Sam - Matt added me on Facebook late January 2012. I went on a forum asking for neighbours for an online FB game I was playing at the time and Matt was one of the many who sent me a friend requested. I always had a quick squiz over who requested me (even if it was just for a game) and thought he looked pretty cool and that he wouldn't be offended by some gratuitous humour that would be posted from time to time on my wall. He was also rockin' a rather amazing looking beard in his profile picture. ;)
A few weeks passed since the initial friend request and I had liked a couple of his photos and he liked a couple of mine and then I posted something on my wall about my fondness of suits and facial hair (referring to Mike Patton) and that's when he first messaged me.
From that first initial friend request till now, we've gone from game neighbours to stalking each others profiles to friends to starting as much as a relationship we can online and planning for a future together.
Ideally we would like to be together around late-May 2014 (for birthdays) but no dates have been made definite as of yet.
Knowing close to nothing about Visa processes, I do however understand that I will need to go over to the States on a Waiver Visa and then we will need to see what happens from that. The whole process at the moment seems a bit daunting as there is so much information and I have no idea how or where to start. I can also be a bit "stressy" when it comes to paperwork, fear of not filling it out properly and having things take longer due to not understanding.. Hence why I have signed us up to this site for some much appreciated hints, tips and support.
I have a couple of friends who have gone through all of this, each one of them having different stories and time frames and their help and support has been amazing, but for something like this I will take all the info I can gather!
I look forward to reading other people's stories and experiences and offering some support and any information I can to others. =)
