I second Wizzle... once NVC gets the case, its usually within 2 weeks that you get the case number assigned. It took them about a week and a half for me. Just keep calling.

Louie198 - based on the VJ community it completely varies. Some people's cases get sent within day(s) and others it takes a week or sometimes more. Just prep your materials for the NVC in the meantime. You don't want to slow yourself down, NVC is slow enough 

Where you live in the United States has almost no bearing on which service center your application was sent to. You need to look at your receipt number which was on the NOA1 and the first three letters will tell you which service center your application was sent too. For example, LIN = Nebraska Service Center.
 
Are you saying that it was 4 months before you received your NOA1? This is an absurdly long time. Are you able to check you status on the USCIS website? In either case, unless your application was sent to the Texas Service Center, you are still within normal processing time. If you've been sent to Nebraska, it will likely take 5-7 months, based on current estimates.

I agree with misshepburn, send only what they asked.... No more in my opinion. It sounded like a request for Additional documents.. The request letter would have the items they need from you itemized...Good luck.

First of all I'd suggest you take a look at the NVC guides on this site - they are extremely helpful and very detailed. You can also check out the official State Department site here: https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/approved.html
 
In a nutshell the regional processing center will send your package to the NVC (national visa center). This could take a couple days, or a couple weeks, its random. Once NVC receives your package it will go into a queue to be numbered by NVC. This can take up to 2 weeks, so you will have to call NVC to check on the status of your case (using your USCIS number and personal details). Once your NVC number is assigned you will have access to the CEAC website where you will pay your invoices and fill out a few more forms (DS-260 and DS-261). After that you will need to submit two packages (AOS and IV) which will contain documents like the US citizen's tax and income information and your police records, amongst other things.

Not sure if it's been pointed out yet, but the userpics/avatars: on most pages they are circles now, but in other places (like the right sidebar, the timelines, etc.) they are squares. It just looks a little odd now and adds inconsistency, in my opinion.
 
Also, the right-side bar looks a little too squished on my monitor now on some pages. I like the wider content column, but maybe it's a little TOO wide now, since the right side is so squished?

Sorry to keep harping on about this, but it's really bugging me!
When I hover over each new topic, it looks like this and there is still no "Mark As Read" option. I see the preview now, but that's all. Is anyone else seeing/not seeing this option?

This "Mark As Read" option also does not appear anywhere on the "Unread Content" page either.
I also noticed somewhere else in the forum that the "Family Friendly" language filter is not working. So that maybe needs to be fixed as well.
I agree with NikiLR, the 'Enter/Return creates a new paragraph' feature is a little odd. I think it works better to return it back to single spacing.

See attached.  There is so much white space on the right and left portion is also covered with user's information while it shrinks the main text area.

It no longer says the date the member joined on the right under member info.
Also speaking of the right side, putting the info centered instead of pushed back to the right makes it hard to read. It is standard info that I was able to read by just a glance before.
I feel like the most important part of a post, mainly the post itself and the information in it, is now a lot less prominent. The quote, edited texts are bigger, there is a very dark green upvote button, the member info is so close the actual post, and the line between signatures and the post is really faded etc.
I get that changes and modernization are necessary but I don't get why every website nowadays (Google, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc.) has to look the same with a stark bright white background which is very hard on the eyes, the computer screen, environment etc. and I am speaking here as a relatively young person with perfect vision. This isn't a social media website. I am here to read, learn and get and give information. And that information should be the most important thing and easiest to find rather than say, an upvote button, especially when it concerns rules and laws that affect people's lives in very serious ways.
Also please someone help me turn off the sound firefox makes when there is a new post on the many threads I have open at one time, super irritating. I blocked notifications from this website but it still pings. 

Don't know if this is a bug, but even if I leave myself signed in, if I close the page and return, I have to sign back in again (even if cookies/remember me is enabled). Think this is a fairly common thing that sometimes happens though with a newly migrated forum.

I agree. It's hard to see the page numbers easily.

I used to get notification alerts in the top Notification section of the page for pages that I'm following if someone posts new messages, but I'm not getting those anymore unless someone quotes me.  

A button that you can add to show/hide contents.. I had it for the K1 part of my signature so it wouldn't be so darn long... 

Oh I see, so there's a plan to put other items there. Got it. Maybe it could be slightly narrower? It just seems kind of too large on smaller laptop screens. :/ I'm sure on huge desktop monitors it's fine, but for me it feels slightly invasive. (My max screen resolution is 1440x990 btw.)
If you could make it disappear on the iPad that would be great! I have an iPad mini, so again, it just seems too big and would read better without it.

Another feature is missing which is font type. Previously, we were able to choose a different kind of font name for the fonts, but now there is no option to change fonts from the default fonts.

I agree.  The main area should take the most space and not the side bars on each side.

In the past, when you click on your profile at the top right hand, it normally gave the option to update timeline.  There you would scroll down and see estimated approval date for your case which is missing now.
