  1. In answer to your question on my wife's GC status.  It's valid until October 2026.

  2. My wife is helping a family member through drug rehab with the help of doctors within the Malaysian Medical system. He requires 24-hour supervision at this point. She has been out of the U.S. for 7 months and will probably remain for up to 11 months potentially. What kinds of problems can we anticipate when she comes back into the country. I understand the statute is less than 1 year out of country without Green Card forfeiture, but it appears anything over 6 months raises red flags from Border patrol. She has a letter from the doctor stating our son's condition and care as well as medical bills. Any other recommendations from any Green Card holders who have experienced prolonged stays out of country? In the future we will file for a reentry visa before leaving again. Any advice on this topic would be greatly appreciated.
