wishing you all the best and also getting out of the black hole to everyone, specialy people who have been stuck there for a loooong time, it is not fair :-(

It was faster than I thought! I can't believe it! I was sure it was an RFE when I opened the e-mail but it was my approval! I almost fell off the chair, then I jumped into my husband's eyes and cried so much I could barely say it was the green card, he was actually worried.
I hope everyone will get a fast approval, and that the ones who are already waiting for a long time will get theirs first! My thoughts are with you all!
No USCIS for 2 years!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I got an email like that too, couldnt believe it but I am so happy, still jumping and screaming

Has anyone seen "The Riches" on FX? It airs Monday nights, and stars Eddie Izzard as a (American) con-man/gypsy dad married to (American) Minnnie Driver. They get in a car accident with a wealthy family and take over their identity.
It's pretty good, but definitely on the drama end of the drama/comedy spectrum.
Funnily enough, Eddie's youngest son, about aged 10, in the show, is a cross-dresser.
It only has aired twice so far, and seems pretty good.... worth a look anyway.... better than Hugh Laurie....
Yeah, my husband and I are watching it. It is interesting, different, we like it

Hi,
we asked the officer after our interview for phone number and he didnt give it to us. He told us to wait and if we want to contact them book the INFO PASS appointment. He also told us to wait at least 90 days before asking about our case. So I guess it depends who you talk to, every person is different....
good luck

Hi,
we had our AOS interview on Tuesday and the officer said that we cant be approved that day becuause of pending FBI checks. Then he explained us, that our folder is going to stay in Santa Ana office until the name check is complete and then he will approve it and I will get the green card. The night after interview I got an emai (below) in which it says our case is in the Missouri center, what does it mean???? I am confused Is it normal proces after the interview with peniding FBI name check or does it mean something else????
Has anybody else got an email like that after the AOS interview?????

....dont know what that means, the officer told us, that he cannot approve us because of FBI name check, so I hope that thats what it means.....

Just wanted to add, at our case the officer didnt ask for taxes(which I have thought he will), but pay stubs.....really every case is different ;-)

Hi,
take everything you have. You never know what they ask for. I just got back from our interview and the officer asked me about document I was supposed to get with my J1 visa more than 2 years ago, I couldnt even rembember if I got it or not. But than I said I think I got it and that I dont have it with me since I have thought that I wont need it.
Good luck with your interview tomorrow!!!!

Hi,
are you still adding people to your list? Just had our interview today and we are on the name check too. NOA1 10-22-2006, Interview 02-06-2007 .

Hi,
just got back from our interview in Santa Ana office, California. Our interview was scheduled for 11:05 and we got there about 30 minutes earlier. After 5 minutes of waiting my name was called and our interveiew started. First think the officer said was that he cant approve our case today because of FBI name check. That it came out as ERROR because of Place of Brith, he said that it happens quiet often and that now USCIS has to apply for the name check again. I looked at the paper from FBI and the procesing date said 11/04/2006 (so I guess it means that the name check was done in november). Dont know how to understand this - does it mean that the person working for FBI forgot to write down my place of birth into the computer or whatever system they are using when running the name check? Anyway he said that that might take few weeks or few months. He said that they get a list with numbers from the FBI once a week saying which name checks have been completed.
Anyway so we knew that we are not going to get approved. Than he asked how and where we met. I said I was here on J1 visa and he asked, if I was planning on staying here and I said no until I met my husband. But then my J1 visa expired and I went back home and then my husband come over few times and then proposed so we applied for the K1 visa. He looked at the pictures quickly, made copies of my passport and the EAD card and said that once the name check is completed he will approve our case and we will receive the green card. The whole interview took aproximately 20 minutes, the guy was quite nice and try to explain us the situation with FBI. But still I am a bit confused..........
So now I am hoping that it wont take too long as our journey is already taking a long time.
This is my experience and I also have few questions. I didnt apply for the document which allows me to travel since I was hoping that I will get the green card soon but now since I can be stuck on the FBI name checks forever do you know how long it approximately takes to get it?
And also anyone had the similar experince? How long did it take to get a green card for you after waiting for the name check?
Thanks for your help.

Hi,
just wanted to say, that I got my EAD card today in mail. I just received an email from CRIS on Sunday, that the card has been ordered and it will take up to 30 days to recive it and it hasnt even been a week I am so suprised.
We have our interview coming next tuesday at Santa Ana, CA, so hopefully that will go ok too. Does anybody has an experience? Do you know how it is with the security checks, I read somewhere, that now they have to be completed before the initial interview. Well will see, I will post our experience here later.

Hi,
I got a letter about my AOS interview yesterday and I am wondering if there is any system or pattern how the AOS works. I have noticed earlier that some cases got transfered to California and then got approved and now I have seen lots of people getting letters about the AOS interview.
Is there any reason why some people get approved without an interview and others have to go through the AOS interview?
I was also wondering how many people get approved after the AOS interview and how many of you have to wait for the FBI security checks?
We have already gone through security checks while waiting for our K-1 visa is there any chance we would have to go through them again?

Hi, we didnt get an email either, only a letter today - it was a surpirse....

Hi,
I was just wondering how long does it take to recieve the EAD card after we get married and send all the documets they require. I would like to start working as soon as possible, but cant without the work authorization document.
Is there possibility to apply for it at the local uscis office (Santa Ana, CA)? I read somewhere on the internet, that you can schedule an appointment, bring to documents and they give you the stamp the same day, is that true? Has someone got an experince with that?
Thank you very much for your help. I appreciate it.

Hi,
I am just looking at the documents Im going to need when I apply for AOS and it says that I will need I-693, Medical Examination. Im here on K1 visa and Im getting married in September. In the instructions it says, that I can use the vaccination supplement (I693A) from the medical exam I took abroad before the interview at the embassy. The thing is that I dont have a copy of it as they put it in the brown envelope which I wasnt supposed to open and had to give it to the officer at POE. There they told me, that they will send the documents back to the service center. So what do I have to do now? Do I still have to take another medical exam or can they review the results from the medical exam and vaccination supplement from the documents which they already have???? Please help...
Thank you.

Hi,
I arrived 2 weeks ago to LA and the officers at the POE LAX were quiet nice, they didnt interview me anymore and just looked at the papers in the brown envelope and gave me a stamp in my passport. They didnt give me the EAD, I asked about it but they said that they dont give those. I was wondering if somebody knows if I can apply for the work authorization here in LA. Please let me know if that is possible.
Thank you for your help.
