  1. Let's just say you have your combo card and you have planned a trip home flights paid for and everything and you end up getting your greencard interview about a week before you are due to leave so you know you wouldn't be able to get your greencard in the mail on time ,will they allow you to keep your combo card in order to leave the country?I'm getting worried this may happen to me a lot of the people who filled around the same time as me are starting to get their interview dates for end of September which is getting close to my trip home.please don't tell me I should of waited until after my green card to travel home ,I have already missed out on so much including my best friends wedding as I was worried about traveling home before I receive my greencard.I have a very sick family member and I'm concerned if I leave it any later than I already have I may not get chance to see them again

  2. Hi everyone I am asking for your advice. We have not heard anything yet from my husbands AOS (received EAD few weeks ago) . We plan on traveling out of the country in December but I feel he won't have the green card by then/ability to do so. My lawyer did not want us to apply for AP because she said we needed a specific reason....which I see isn't the case and that it looks like basically everyone becomes approved. Do you guys think I should apply for APnow.. also what do I put for reason? Thanks guys.. I'm excited for everyone that has had their AOS interview and been approved.

    Also...anyone in. Connecticut?

Your plan to travel out the country is a valid reason enough

I just stated I planned on visiting home but didn't need any evidence etc to back that up

  3. Our status "Ready to be scheduled" already changed twice: from "As of, 05/08/15" to 06/28 to 07/05. I do not think it means the case ended up on somebody's desk "to be scheduled." These are likely just dates when the USCIS online system updated itself. This is is only an assumption, however. I also hope that the change in dates does not mean that the case was moved to the end of line of those to be scheduled, especially knowing long wait for the Denver's office.

My local office is Denver too,so I hope that isn't the case
  4. We just received our EAD & AP approval (still waiting on the card to arrive). While we received the approval letter, the website has not been updated.

Our AOS status on the USCIS website also had the date of April 23 stating our case was ready to be scheduled for an interview. I just was checking the status and it has also stated that as of July 4th, our case is ready to be scheduled.

Hopefullly this means it has been placed on a desk of the person who will actually be doing the scheduling! Fingers crossed!

    Congratulations on your approval

Ahh ok interesting!let's keep our fingers crossed

  5. I checked my online status this morning and it said that my EAD was mailed to me. :dancing:NBC is in Lee's Summit, MO and I live in Kansas City, MO so I suppose it will arrive real soon

Congratulations mine was mailed yesterday morning by yesterday evening they had updated my status with a tracking number .my card should arrive today !so I wouldn't be surprised if you will receive yours tommorow
  6. Yay! My case status for I-485 finally changed to "ready for interview" :D

So this means that I will for sure be interviewed and not waived, right?

Also, this in no way gives any clue on how much longer to wait before interview notice, am I right?

Correct my status has said ready for interview since April 23rd and I'm still waiting.apparently it could be months until a interview is scheduled

Although I'm not 100% sure it means we will definitely get a interview and not a waiver

  7. Haha yeah I check it 10 times a day too. :D

Congrats! I had biometrics on March 31st.

Congrats! It usually takes a week or so.

Hopefully you don't have to wait too much longer .I learnt during my k1 process that nothing is done in order of dates people filled etc ,which is wrong .I sometimes wonder if they have any type of rountine or if they just randomly select the files they are working on
  8. Ok I have gone back and read through all the posts Terri if you don't want to be doubted why can't you answer people's genuine questions who are trying to help you out .I think the main things people are confused about is .is this child the daughter of your sisters ex ? If so as everyone said this would make the child your finances cousin not niece ? Did your sister know about the child ? .

My bet is the child is not his cousin or his niece .it's his daughter and highly likely the child's mother is already in America and your fiance and child will be running off to her once you guys married the same way your sisters ex did .don't you think it's very convenient he forgot to tell you he's taking Care of this kid til after the fact you were engaged

  9. Just to add to what I said marriage or engagement have no room for doubt, you are starting off on a negative before anything has even begin .people take marriage too lightly these days,I don't understand why anyone would even consider marriage even if they had one small doubt in their head .I don't know how old you are or what you're whole backgrounds story is on this but I do know if I was your sister or any family member and I knew the whole story I'd be telling you to run as fast as possible and if you wasn't running I think I'd be giving you a tug in the right direction.

Step away from your situation and re read everything you have said what would you think if it was someone else .the fact your sister was scammed by his own family member should be enough,if that plus everything else wasn't the fact he failed to tell you his taking care of his niece really should be nail in the coffin

  10. I worry about your safety Terri ,I've briefly read through some of your posts to get the background story and everything I read pulls up a red flag ,the fact that you have so many posts questioning your fiance and if you are doing the right thing, makes me think that deep down all of this is the wrong thing to do.

Please be safe if you are travelling alone to meet up with him ,I have a friend in UK who was dating a Egyptian guy for a few months and when she went to visit his he held her hostage for a week when she wouldn't agree to marry him and take him to live in England,I don't normally comment to posts like this but my friends experience is kind of what is making me .please remember you don't really know this guy and some people will do anything if they are desperate to leave the country.if you do go to visit I agree with what others said .suggest to him that you think it would be a good idea for you to come live in Egypt for awhile or a country where neither of you needs a visa and see what his reaction is.I truly hope we are all wrong but it has pulled up so many red flags it's almost unbelievable

  11. Something came to my attention in another thread, this may not end up being a issue for me but I'm just preparing myself just in case .me and my husband have a planned and paid for trip for my sister in laws graduation in June .

If worst comes to worst and I was to get my interview date for one of the days we are gone even though it's not something I really want to do I was under the impression it would be ok for me to re schedule my interview but after reading someone's comment I fear they may not see my reason as valid for them to reschedule if need be .

With my husband being military its hard enough to plan anything too much in advance anyway but had I known us going to the graduation may cause problems for my green card process I wouldn't of arrAnged anything :-/
