Decided to come down to the house in the Keys for the weekend. Had a few jobs that needed to get done and it's rather hard to do them when friends or family are with us. Wanted to check on the new canal side dock project. No activity in the past few weeks. Time to call the contractor again. Changed out the wifi thermostat that no longer worked over wifi. Now I can monitor and change the settings from anywhere at any time. Replace the outside light fixture that had been hanging by wires following the last hurricane. Diagnosed and fixed the fuel gauge problem in the boat. Needed to run a new wire from the sender to the dash gauge. After all that, I went for a short bicycle ride before sunset. WOW what a beautiful day. Not a cloud in the sky. The 78 degree temperature felt just perfect. (TBoneTX , don't screw with my mind with your Polish math) The sun was reflecting off the calm Gulf water. Made me think how happy I am that I live where I do.

After being told so many times the election was not stolen, we can now see there was in fact liberal collusion to influence the result. As if we didn't know...

When the grandchildren come down to the Keys we take them on a walk or on a boat ride through the canal looking for "baby dinosaurs".

They have iguanas in NC?

We have a HUGE number of them in the Keys. They seemed to like my dock and always left a horrible mess. Also to note, they are incredible swimmers. There was a push a while back to kill them to control the over population. I understand they are great barbequed. I know of a guy that lives in the Ft. Lauderdale that kills them from his back yard, but we wont talk about that here.

She needs to get a job. Hope she is not planning on staying home while collecting a "salary" from you. We went through a somewhat similar situation with my wife's daughter. Came here and because she couldn't drive she really couldn't get a job. I put her to work in my office but she was unhappy as she had a graduate degree in business analysis that wasn't doing her any good in our town. With the help of one of our ex-friends she ran away, or relocated without telling us where. She didn't want anything to do with us. Didn't see her for several years. My wife cried a lot over this. While were out of her life she moved to Boston, got a great job, got married, and had a child. While searching online I came across her Instagram account and found out about her child. Long story short, mother and daughter reconnected through a mutual friend. Took some time for the two to reconcile. Now the daughter and her family live not too far from us in Florida and they are quite close again. A happy ending. I hope you can have the same one day.

I believe they are all closed now. I know the one in Marathon closed last year, and the one in Key Largo was also closed as I have been told. Not 100% sure about the one in Key West. I was in there early this year and I wondered how in the world they were able to stay in business. My wife's favorite Russian deli is right around the corner from that K-Mart. Next time we are there I will check. Just checked and found out K-Mart in Key West closed earlier this year, in March.

The times have certainly changed. MANY years ago it took us 6 months to get my fiance here from Russia. For the most part the timelines have steadily gotten worse over the years.
