  1. I've seen enough body camera footage to know that when the police are confronted with a "threat" they don't stop at one or two shots.
  2. I didn't check, but does anyone know how much the proposed fee increase will be for humanitarian parole? I believe that is an I-131 that used to cost $575. Guessing a lot of these people will be eligible for a fee waiver. What is the current processing time? Think I read about 90 days. Going to make some people that have been waiting well over a year for their spouse or fiance a little unhappy.
  3. How do members of the house get to vote for speaker before they are sworn in?
  4. Yes, happy Orthodox Christmas eve. I didn't know it was getting so much press.
  5. My wife changed her name when she naturalized. Didn't have to pay anything extra or go through an additional process, but it did add a few weeks as the oath ceremony had to be done at the federal court. In our case we had to go to Ft. Lauderdale. Back then there was no USCIS office in Ft. Myers. For us it was Miami. Anywhere north of Naples in SW FL went to Tampa.
  6. Yesterday we were driving back down to SW Florida from Asheville NC and on I-95 in Georgia I saw an interesting billboard that made me chuckle. It had a picture of Joe Biden and it said "81 million votes?" An illegitimate president. Stolen elections have catastrophic consequences. Got to love those folks in Georgia.
  7. You are lucky that is all she left...
  8. Yes, but it seems... Heck, it's a new year. I think I'll start it off by being nice and not using that snarky remark I was going to. Happy News Year.
  9. Opps.... And such a subtle come on . You are such a charmer TBoneTX.
  10. I believe pretty much all women are.
  11. It's why I live in Florida. And why so many OLD people live here too.
  12. Sorry, we have been on the road. Wife wanted to spend the New Years somewhere "cold". We left yesterday afternoon following an abbreviated work day to head north. We are in Asheville NC. Looks like we missed it by one week. Last weekend in the Keys was colder than this weekend will be here. Of course last weekend was VERY cold in Asheville. Just fine by me as I don't care for freezing cold and especially don't feel like driving on sloppy roads. Still, the 790 mile journey was not that much fun. Traffic, traffic, traffic. Fortunately most of it headed south. Something to take into consideration when heading home. And about the engagement, so sorry for your loss....
  13. An FYI: Those teeth are numbered 1 to 16 on top from right to left, and 17 to 32 on the bottom from left to right. Your fun fact for the day.
  14. Looks like I need to hop in my private jet and fly up to that tiny back woods town in Georgia to enlighten a VJ friend. I wonder if they have an airport near by?
  15. Doesn't Radio Shack still sell AAA batteries? I'll have to check the Radio Shack on our island in the Keys. Noticed this past week it is still open.
  16. I'm a problem student with a bad attitude and no respect for the teacher.
  17. Got back from the Keys yesterday around dinner time. Had my mother with us the entire time since heading down Friday morning. Oh, WOW. I'm exhausted from listening to her, mostly complaining. Everything costs too much. Heard way too much about her "gas" and other bodily functions I won't mention here. Why don't her grandchildren call her more? Etc, etc... I'll have to give her a pass. She is my mother after all and she will be 90 in 5 months.
  18. Aren't chimps the ones that fling poo at each other? Better to keep it indoors, and especially under the sheets while in bed.
  19. Bah humbug from that place where all the old hippies that never grew up live. Drinking heavily makes it all seem OK somehow.
  20. TBoneTX, on this Christmas day I hope you helped to spread the love and joy by taking a family or two of "undocumented" folks into your home....
  21. Fortunately there is a 7kW heat strip in the central AC. It's getting a workout. Hasn't been used in some time, but we do turn the heat on once or twice a year. Getting ready to put in a new AC to replace the one that is 14 years old. My buddy owns an AC business and he and I will install something that is rather new on the market and is very efficient and is a heat pump. Salt spray is horrible on anything metal and it is surprising that this last unit has survived for so long. Just saw on the news that we will be back up in the mid to upper 70's by Tuesday and lower to mid 80's by Thursday. That's a relief. Was just complaining I don't have my long insulated underwear here.
