  1. I had no idea you were Russian.
  2. A/C is so over rated. I think only necessary for Eastern Europeans and weak Texans...LOL I constantly tell my wife, "it's summer in Florida, why do I have to freeze in my own home?" And the same goes for mosquito repellent. I rarely need it but the tender Eastern European woman I co-habitat with seems to attract them. I have noticed the same back in the day when I would visit the Golden Corral. I always wondered what type of vehicle they were able to fit into to get there.
  3. Oh, I think that would have actually been flattened and baked (as in cooked on hot asphalt) chicken
  4. I was up before 4am this morning. Just saying.. And as I have said before, sleep is over rated. (Self deleted to avoid an unpleasant weekend) It was just a little fun and games with the wild chicks, except for that stubborn rooster that wouldn't get out of the way of the SUV. For an instant I thought we might be having fried chicken for dinner. Another road kill special.
  5. Is AM radio still a thing? My '64 Chevrolet Corvair has just a manual tune (no push buttons) AM only radio. Lucky it even had that "option". Never much on there to listen to. It has a small condenser on the generator (no alternator) to reduce interference.
  6. Well we played hooky today and took the day off to make the holiday weekend even longer. I was a little worn out from the past couple of busy weeks so waited until early this morning to head down here to the Keys. No problem for me as I'm a morning person, but the wife is not. Even so I did give her fair warning last night to be ready to go early. Did manage to get her up and we were on the road by 7:00am. Breakfast at Denny's Key Largo, then the run down to BPK. Back to paradise. Quick stop at Winn Dixie for a few groceries and to chase the chickens in the parking lot. A couple of adult beverages and a little relaxation on the porch while a thunderstorm passes thru. Tomorrow a little boating and a trip into Key West and more relaxation. Ahh...
  7. So sorry to hear this. Wow, I don't even know what that means, but it sounds impressive.
  8. I got a great laugh out of this one, BUT I think it's (2+2+1) and please don't make me explain! 🤣🤣🤣
  9. Is that the same as our national debt?
  10. Isn't it the wrong time of year for skiing?
  11. Just makes me wonder who thought this wack job would be a good addition to this administration in the first place. There are a couple of others that I feel the same way about.
  12. Of course you can be sure she will be "rewarded" with a cushy high paying position somewhere.
  13. On our last trip to Texas (2+1)years ago our friends insisted we visit the FANTASTIC WhataBurger. That was in San Marco or San Something. Don't really remember. I guess it was Ok...
  14. I watched the video. Was that Rahm Emanuel greeting Biden in Japan? What is his relationship or position in this administration? Edited as I looked it up. He is the ambassador to Japan. Figures.
  15. Johnson & Johnson Covid-19 vaccine no longer available in the U.S. The Covid-19 vaccine from Johnson & Johnson is no longer available in the United States, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. All remaining doses expired last week, and the CDC directed providers to dispose of any that they had left over. https://nbc-2.com/news/2023/05/15/johnson-johnson-covid-19-vaccine-no-longer-available-in-the-u-s/
  16. What really pissed me off was when Monroe county, the FL Keys, closed their "border" and would only allow residents and documented workers enter. Was easy to control as there is only one way in and out. I own a place there and we were preparing to go down with my wife's daughter and family. We had to take two cars and show our "documents" when entering. I drove thru the checkpoint first and showed my tax bill and my ID. They asked one question and let me thru. My wife was driving the car behind me and I noticed she was having an issue. I pulled over to go back and check but that started a big to do and I was ordered to get back in my vehicle OR get on the ground! They wouldn't let my wife thru because her name was not on the tax bill. I tried to explain, and they understood we were married but she was not going to be allowed in. Period. Talk about control. She had to turn around and go back 20 miles to a gas station and wait. I went ahead 5 miles to a gas station and called an uber to take me up to where she was waiting. I then drove her vehicle thru the check point. As we were leaving the check point the guy that wouldn't let her thru recognized us and tried to get us to stop, but I took off and just kept going. Just couldn't believe what was happening.
  17. My son and his family came into town for the weekend so we took my wife and my mother and his family out for dinner last night (got a jump on the Mother's day rush). I'm sure he and my daughter will spend some time with their mother today. My wife's daughter lives across the state, about an hour and 45 minutes away. We were supposed to go over there yesterday but my wife had a headache so we cancelled out of that. Thank goodness because those grandkids are....WILD. Of course I am not a mother, but I have been called one a couple of times...
  18. We did just the opposite. I had my fiancee get all required vaccinations she didn't already have at her medical, and also made sure she got a copy of the DS-3025 showing vaccinations were complete. It was a lot cheaper to get the vaccinations there, and we were able to skip the need and expense of the civil surgeon's exam here in the US.
  19. Good news for CNN. Their ratings finally got out of the dumpster.
