Thanks I think it was a result of alcohol intake Who needs heat? Yesterdays low here was 74 Guess you were royally screwed The more I hear about Ex-Mrs. T-B the more I like her. LOL I've heard that's a common problem for Hispanic women. I like Coke Zero also. I run ours when away from home. Always amazed what it collects even after I run the old fashioned vacuum. Remember you get to subtract the fiber content from the total amount of carbs. Good luck on your junk quest.

Today is my birthday so my wife blocked off today thru Monday at the office. We headed down here to the Keys after work last night. It's just the two of us and the little dog. That poor old dog doesn't travel well anymore. She used to be the best traveler but now at her elderly age she gets worked up and nervous and whines the whole time. Even the small dose of Valium didn't help. Going home we are going to up the dose. Why is it now that every time I am here the wind is blowing like crazy? Should have bought a sailboat. My son called me early this am to wish me a happy birthday (can't believe he finally remembered) and talk a bit about politics. As a full time Army National Guard he is thrilled with the choice of Pete Hegseth for Sec. of Defense. Shortly after that mama Neon called to let me know she is having problems, again with her i-phone ...7! It's not holding a charge well. Probably time to upgrade her to an i-phone 8. LOL Too windy to go out on the water so stayed around the house. Did one small repair project on the boat, made some food and brownies, watched some TV and internet, and took this strange thing they call a nap.

I can see the need for tariffs, especially goods that are coming in from China and Mexico where average wages are exceptionally low compared with that in the US. It's killing manufacturing and jobs here. Just today I went to pick up a new car battery at Walmart. Noticed on top of the battery was a "Made in China" sticker. Americans are addicted to "cheap" stuff. (And that car battery wasn't all that cheap at $180)

K1 or CR1 visa?
Neonred replied to Brooke and Bruno's topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration
OP, beware of people telling you of fantastic processing times but are unwilling to fill in their timeline. -
I'll bet it was an explosive evening... I absolutely agree Sounds like he has one of those two wheel scooters like our 7 year old grandson has. LOL Same here. Got to go visit Mama Neon and do the same, and get the same lecture.

What are you expecting seeing how YOU haven't even filled out your timeline. -
Bank Account Queries
Neonred replied to SL2024's topic in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
Might be easier to get added to your partners bank account. At least initially, then open your own later if needed. -
Google Aldi buys Winn Dixie
-
Have you no compassion for folks with early dementia? Don't let that stop you. LOL I beat all those lazy slackers that are still in bed. Who needs that much sleep anyway? 👍 But such a limited selection. Been to their small store a couple of times. Don't plan on going back. The sad news is that Aldi bought the Winn Dixie's here in FL. I'm in the Keys right now and on our island there is a surprisingly good Winn Dixie. Still unclear if it will stay a (large) Winn Dixie or be converted to a (tiny) Aldi. We are all hoping it stays as is since the next closest grocery store is 25 miles away.

Saves me time and a LOT of money, especially on groceries.

But is she cute? I shop in person at Walmart a couple of times a week, usually Friday and Sunday at 6:00am. Perfect time as there are only a couple of other shoppers in the store at that time. Can get what I want and get out very quickly and easily. Won't go near the place after 8:00am Watch out for her husband...

I really like @Asia. She almost always gives me a laughing happy face on my comments!

Sounds like it should be a Three Guys week

Yuck. Who needs that?

Just a quick update on the suppressor. Submitted, online, the eform 4 to ATF to allow me to possess it. Today, exactly one week later I got the approval email with PDF of the form and tax stamp. Guess I'll be running down to my FFL this afternoon to pick it up. The stories about year long waits had always put me off, but this really has approved. Again, maybe they need to teach USCIS a thing or two. Now it's "you loot, we shoot, and no one will ever know"

The clean up begins, or actually continues. Not complaining because I've only got one large previously dead pine tree that came down along with palm fronds and assorted small branches. Nothing compared to what people just 100 miles north have to deal with. Best thing was this am when I walked outside and realized I needed to put on my jeans instead of the shorts. Temps have dropped significantly and this morning it was barely 72 outside. The fall chill is in the air. Even the pool temp has dropped. It's down to 82 (burr) which means we have got to start using the solar heater again. No problem...in 2 weeks I'll be heading south, to the Keys, for another week. Probably the last longer get away for the season now that all those annoying northerners are headed this way.

Ouch. That's only about 80 miles north of us, but they got hit hard. My daughter's pedodontic group has an office in Port Charlotte and she texted me last night that Jim Cantore from the Weather channel was broadcasting from just a mile or so down US41 from their office. Saw quite a storm surge. She was telling me there were already piles of storm debris on the streets from Helene just two weeks ago. I wonder where all that garbage went during this event. We got very lucky in Naples. Of course there was a storm surge. When I went to bed last night the surge was up to about 5 feet. Not sure how high it finally got. I'm inland at least 5 miles so not a worry for me, but the downtown area and the expensive homes near the water are probably a mess.... again. Around 11:00pm the winds really picked up and the power started flickering on and off but never staying off for more than 30 seconds. Did that until about 12:30, and each time various alarms inside the house would go off. Got tired of dealing with it so had a stiff drink and went to bed. Currently waiting for daylight to see what tree damage we have. Seems like the southern half of the storm fell apart as it got close to landfall. We got lucky.

If you are into water and diving, Dry Tortugas National Park. Not easy to get to and it's one of the least visited parks. Very interesting old fort.
