So proud of you. A great time to go to Walmart. Have I ever told you when I go to Walmart?? Same way I feel about my mama. Again?? I'm setting up a GoFundMe for TBone. We're going to buy him a chica. And if there is enough money he'll get her for a second night.

Well, there is always Walmart. @TBoneTX, have I ever told you when I find to be the best time to shop at Walmart? LOL

It's all in good fun..... at your expense! LOL

I keep waiting for some progress with "these girls". Couldn't be any worse than the last manyzen prospects. (See what I did there?) Now you are the relationship slug! (I love this thread. I can poke fun at and abuse the primate with very little chance of administrative action!) Did the same for mama Neon last night when I visited. She'll just be an hour off for a day and a half. As I was leaving she started with the "woe is me" and guilt trip. "Nobody comes to visit me anymore. Maybe I should buy a car..." Yea, right. At your age? Then it was "You didn't even take me to the cemetery to visit your father like we usually do just before Christmas..." I didn't bother to remind her that she had been fresh off of knee replacement and wasn't going out, no less the the 5 hour round trip to St. Pete to go to the cemetery. At that time she didn't want to go. Quickly got in my car and told her I had to get to the store before it closed.

My Costco Visa is used primarily for "the business" so I end up with a rebate check which is about 4x what yours was. Plus the yearly reward certificate for being an executive member which is 2% back on most of your Costco purchases. Last year used those to buy an 85" Sony TV and the rewards covered most of it.

Health/dental insurance for K1 visa holder
Neonred replied to Surzel's topic in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
Dentist here. Unless you're getting your dental insurance through a group such as work you'll need to spend a LOT to get decent coverage. Most plans will also have a waiting period for major work like an implant (you'll be very lucky to even have a small part of that covered) or bone grafting and the crown. You can expect that to run well over $4k. Dental schools are a good alternative but you can expect to make a lot of trips there and it will take longer. CIGNA and Delta have some decent plans. A lot of us have dropped Metlife and Guardian and Dentimax because of their poor reimbursement.- 7 replies

In our town with all the older retired folks, sample day is a big event. They know how to make a meal out of it. I was told by a couple of people that work in our local Costco that ours is #1 in wine sales in the country. Go figure. I guess when you are retired and there is nothing else to do... drink.

My wife's idea of hiking is walking from Saks Fifth Ave store to the Louis Vuitton Store.

We are in the Keys for close to a week every month now. Went down a week ago Wednesday and stayed thru Sunday. Weather was great! Going back down in three weeks. Disney in the summer is a hard NO for me. Besides the heat and humidity and thunderstorms, who wants to wait for an hour in line for each attraction surrounded by thousands of school kids? Go to Disney in late fall or winter when kids are in school. Maybe the wife and I are just getting to be old and grumpy....

I prefer the pizza.

Wife and I "honeymooned" in the FL Keys, because we live in FL and I have a house in the Keys. If you are not used to heat and humidity the Keys, and actually anywhere in FL will be a lot to tolerate. Many people from "up north" think the summers in FL are unbearable. We like it, but we live here. Expect oppressive humidity and daily afternoon thundershowers. I would probably suggest Alaska or Wyoming.

We might have a blizzard here too...if I can find a Dairy Queen. How much is the tariff on Timbits?

How to get married... quickly!
Neonred replied to Nywoek's topic in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
Got married at the beach in our town. Just my family and our minister. Following the wedding had a meal at our house for everyone. -
Life is good. I'm hanging out here in the Keys having a drink and watching Earth Wind and Fire on PBS. The house is wide open and haven't had to use the ac since we arrived Wednesday. The entire 4 panel sliding door is open out to the porch overlooking the canal. Watching the boats and manatee go by. The new dog really likes this place too. We don't want to go back tomorrow and work this coming week..... Which got us into some serious talk about retirement. Been thinking about and looking forward to this for a long time, and maybe this will be the year. Was hoping I'd have someone to take over the practice and did have one guy that we have known for a long time said he wanted it, but backed out a few months ago. Talking with a few classmates that are also having a hard time finding someone to take over their practice. May just have to close the doors, and if that's the case will probably do it in September. A lot to think about and a lot of details to work out, but I'm ready.

I understood that but your response just didn't seem to make sense based on the post you were replying to..... What ever.

Of course you know I do that just to aggravate you. LOL And it seems to work.

So this is where you learned your parenting skills for Mini-bone.

Congrats and enjoy. It seems that we are finished with new grand kids. My son has 2 girls, 4 and 6, my daughter has 15 month old twins, and my wife's daughter has 2 boys, 5 and 7. Two seems like the magic number for our kids. Lucky for us they are all in FL.

Great Smoky Mountains national park is the busiest park in the US. I think they are taking measures to control and lessen the crowds. Mammoth Cave is great. Went there a couple of times when I lived in Louisville.

Don't forget JoAnne stores are closing. Be sure to get there for the mark downs.

Egg Prices Are NOT by Accident
Neonred replied to Ban Hammer's topic in Current Events and Hot Social Topics
Can't we just get cheap eggs from China like we get everything else? LOL -
I love that store. I go at 6am, get everything I need for groceries and other items, and return home right around 7am. No time wasted.
