  1. I am working on filing the FOrm I-130 online and the online form is pretty lengthy I am only filing for my dad but the form is asking to provide information about parent two and also asking for marriage certificate etc but am only filing for my dad, so can i just skip adding information about parent 2? One will think they will make the form such that it will have conditionals like if one is filling for both parent or not and ask questions based on that but no, the dumb people behind the website just lack cognitive logic, but that is alright. So anyone here willing to answer this? I will think the only evidence here will be dad birth certificate and mine and whatever else related to showing proof between me and my dad not some marriage certificate Please advice
  2. if he does not live here, will they revoke his permanent residency? if he can get that rather than applying for visiting visa all the time, which one will you go for? exactly
  3. in this case they would not be staying trust me on that, if i wanted them here in the US i could have applied for them years back it took this long because they had no interest to add more my dad is not interested in living here so he wont even get citizenship because he will be here for short visits only brother on the other hand needs this more and no urgency yet so yeah not everyone is on life and death to move to the US like US is some eutopia matter of fact, i see migration from US to many countries in the coming years as reality of things here get worse and worse. already happening but in very small numbers compared to what is to come i can go on and on about how the west is not longer it anymore, and its not just about money/finance or opportunities anymore so anyways that should help because someone like you will be rejecting ppl wrongly with your thinking if given the job at the consulate to interview ppl
  4. that sounds more like tourist visa you knew no one and yet it is visit visa?
  5. like they say, there is no smoke without fire so are you saying all visits are classified as exactly same? someone visiting for some random reason compared to dad visiting for son's graduation or family visiting for a child's marriage can not be the same else we should be run by robots already at that point sure laws exists but you and I both know that does not mean nothing. not sure you want to argue this. only normies focus too much on written laws while others bypass and dont limit themselves based on some written laws created decades ago again i am sure all visits are not created equal except you want to argue that with me and i will gladly and respectfully disagree
  6. I see, i thought in some cases i needed to write a letter approving of their visit or something that is not the case at all? i know of examples where lets say am graduating from college and i needed them to attend my graduation, then i can write a letter to allow them to come to my graduation so nothing like that exists?
  7. i am about to allow my dad and brother from nigeria to visit me in the US for 1 month what forms do i fill to allow this? how long processing times is this for at the moment as we all know everything is all about processing time with USCIS thanks all!
  8. ok got it, i meant to say he is 16 years i see what you mean by 4-5 years now, makes sense ok got great info from you all thanks again!!!
  9. currently living in nigeria and will be coming from nigeria so they are not living here currently you mentioned 4-5 years before dad can petition for half brother when petition is approved for dad, will it be temp resident before permanent resident? sorry if this sounds stupid but i havent kept up with the immigration laws and all of recent so i can sound like a noobie besides 16 years is not young lol
  10. i certainly learnt a lot today, never knew there will be different visa for half brother and wait time is that insane the freaking I-130 should have mentioned this but they did not, i guess like they say "read the fine print" thanks to you all truly appreciate all your responses your responses are much better that the consultation fee i paid a lawyer that gave me false hope will have to seat down and go through the links you guys shard to further understand and confirm everything you all said one last thing i wanted to check can i petition for dad and half brother and then while the 15-20 years craziness continues when dad gets LPR then he can also petition for half brother as his child? can that work? so that way it is like backup plan as 2 application for half brother? is that legal and allowed?
  11. this is crazy to me that processing time for anything can be 15 - 20 years i mean that is so long that am not even sure how they keep tab of documentations and information provided that is way too long, long enough for the world to be completely different and for a country not to exist any longer just can understand why anything should take that long what i got from lawyer is really different, maybe i need to go see any lawyer again and double check all these information i remember lawyer saying i need to start the process fast before half brother turns 18 and now you guys saying age does not even matter and processing times can be mover 2 decades so what happens when the petitioner is no longer alive by the time processing time finally arives? i just cant understand this
  12. where do i get the information on what the visa type will be? like the f4 etc and where did you get this processing time information from?
