Oh, ok. How long? I'm trying to also move out of the country in August or September, so I wonder if I should wait on changing my name then.. Also, my account has been saying estimated time is 7 months, but it said that in the beginning of January.. should I still expect the process to finish by the end of July? The interview is in May.. I filed for tax each year but just don't see tax return transcripts available directly from IRS. Is it ok to just print copy from Tax Slayer, etc? I thought I had to get something official for the past 5 years (and it is not the first 5 years of my residency, is it?).

Also, what type of transcripts should I get? I just went to IRS transcript website, and for immigration purpose, the page recommended I get tax return transcript instead of other types, but then it only has tax years 2020, 2021, and 2022 available. That's only three.. but tax account transcripts seem to have more than 3. Is this alright for naturalization?

Hi everyone, I have a couple questions. I've applied for naturalization and I'm going to have an interview soon. Everything seems to be going well so far, but my marriage is not. I've been married for 12 years and I've been living in the U.S. for almost 14 years, so I'm not worried about getting naturalized per se, but I was wondering, can I still request a name change? Even if we do decide to get a divorce, I'm not sure if it will be final and a divorce certificate will be ready before the interview or the oath (does oath come at a different time after the interview?), but I remember hearing that name change is very flexible at naturalization, so I'm curious.. And even though I applied for naturalization under the category of 5 years or more residency in the U.S., the letter about the interview lists only two options regarding what to bring after the general list of things to bring: "If applying for NATURALIZATION AS THE SPOUSE of a United States Citizen; your marriage certificate, proof of death or divorce for each prior marriage of yourself or spouse, your spouse's birth or naturalization certificate of citizenship" "If applying for NATURALIZATION as a member of the United States Armed Forces; your discharge certificate, or form DD214" I'm definitely not applying as a member of the U.S. Armed Forces. Should I bring my marriage certificate regardless of my situation at the time of the interview? Should I also bring tax returns from the past 5 years? Also, I thought that I needed to bring proof of 5 years of residency in the U.S., but now I don't see the requirement anywhere. Do I need copies of apartment leases from the past 5 years? Thank you for your reply! Yesterday, I was able to connect with a human! I tried saying "Infopass". He said my question will be handled higher up and someone will email me within 7 days, and he also gave me a number to call in case I don't hear from anyone. So I guess I'll wait for that first, but.. in case this fails, I was wondering if you tried making a new account yourself and if that didn't work either? I'm worried that if I file my application by mail, the process would slow down. Did you file your N-400 by mail? How long did it take to hear from them?

Was this ever resolved? I'm having the same issue, although I haven't tried creating a new account. I want to make sure it is ok to make a new account.

Hi everyone, It's been a while since I used My USCIS, and now that I want to log in again, it doesn't let me. Right now, I want to use My USCIS to file for citizenship. The last time I used My USCIS account is when I moved to my current address 3 years ago, to file address change. I tried "forgot password" and tried with multiple emails too, although I do know which one I used before because I have some past emails from USCIS. Every time I try the "forgot password" link and get an "instruction" email, it says this: "This address does not have an associated account. If you previously accessed your USCIS myAccount account online, you may have used a different email address. PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE" And that's it. So I messaged them using the contact form on the website last week. No response. So I tried calling USCIS today. I cannot get to a human. The robot sends me email instructions that I've already gone through (leads me to send them a message on the website). I tried "speak with representative" multiple times and then it would end the call. What should I do? Has this happened to anyone before? What could be the reason? Does our account get terminated after a certain period of inactivity? Should I just make a new account?? I'm wondering if I need to go through Infopass? If I could resolve this issue without going to USCIS in person, I'd love that. Please help!! Thanks!!

Hi everyone, So I haven't applied for citizenship yet due to some personal reasons, and I'd like to know more about reentry permit as well. I see that the form looks simple, but there is part 4 Information about Proposed Travel. If I want to move to a European country for a job but haven't even found a job, can I still write that and apply? Like by saying "to take an employment" for "4.1.a purpose" and listing possible European countries for "4.1.b."? Is it ok to not have the detail of who the employer would be at the time of filing? And how much time in advance should I apply? If I wait until I actually have a job offer and accept it, then would it be too late to get the reentry permit on time? How long does it usually take to get one? I read that if you get biometrics done, you can leave the U.S. and get the permit at the embassy in the other country as long as you were physically in the U.S. at the time of filing; is this correct? How soon after application do you usually get biometrics done? Anyone here who has filled out the reentry permit before? Thanks in advance!

Do the Philippines allow dual citizenship? If you're still a citizen of your home country, you should be able to use that passport. I think the trouble is when you come back to the U.S. When you come back to the U.S., you will have to use your U.S. passport even if you have another passport; that's what I've read recently and heard from other people I know. I wonder if you can get your U.S. passport at an U.S. embassy in the Philippines. But with expeditated passport application, I'd think you will get your U.S. passport on time.
