I took the Solemn oath today for Citizenship. It was very great event. There were 493 sworn citizens today from 66 different countries. The top three were Mexico: 85, India: 62, then China: 47 I think. There was a third grade class that sang the star spangled banner.

Hello VJers. My cousin had an interview on March 27 in New Delhi. She had stayed in Canada for about an year and they told her to get the PCC from Canada and deposit that to visa center with your passport and your visa will arrive after 5 days. However we just got the PCC from Canada and its still being mailed. I was trying to check visa status online and its saying its under administrative processing. My question is that, Is the administrative processing because of the PCC or its something else?

It says the following:

Where would I get the proof of payment and disposition? I am in MA.

you should have gotten receipts paying the tickets....if you lose them try to contact the court where you paid your fines. They might have something in record...

You must file I-864. Thats the affidavit of support. This tells them how much you make annually because thats one of the questions in form. And whats wrong with birth certificate sentence? You didn't send the certificate to NVC?

My cousin just had interview at US embassy in Delhi for a spousal visa for USA. She came to Canada about three years ago on a student visa and later returned. When she had interview at the US embassy they asked for PCC from Canada. She didn't had at the time and we applied through XL ID because that was listed on RCMP site. We mailed the fingerprints to XL ID on paper and they transferred electronically to RCMP. However my question is whats the processing time to get PCC. Shes in India and XL ID employee said they will ship to India once its received...Anyone know how long it can take?

I have a question. What does it mean priority date on NOA? my Priority date is January 30, What does mean?

If someone with Green Card wants to apply for Citizenship and her five years like a Permanent Resident is in August. Is possible to apply a few months before she complete 5 years with her Green Card?? (Her initial process wasn't trough marriage). How long can apply in advance for Citizenship before turns five years with The Permanent Resident Card??

I just passed my test today.

The officer asked me to say my full legal name and my ssn. then she reviewed the application and asked questions like "do you support the constitution?" , "are you willing to bear arms for the US if needed?" how many trips did you take outside of the us...why did you go on that trip... then she told me to read a sentence "In what month do we vote for president?" Then she said write "We vote for president in November.

If I remember correctly she asked the following question...

1. How many members does the House of representatives have?

2. Who is the father of our country?

3. We elect a house of representative for how many years?

4. How many justices are on the supreme court?

5. Who is the Chief Justice of the United States

6. Who wrote the Declaration of Independence?

The interview was pretty quick...I was the 3rd person to be interviewed...

Sorry to drag this old topic up but I have an interview next week and was told that my embassy is requiring 2014 taxes. Those without it would be asked to submit them (and passport for visa) when they become available.

My petitioner won't file taxes until the 15th April so there is a possibility that is I am approved I will have to wait a few more weeks for the visa.

This is what someone told me. I am hoping it isn't true. Anyone with a recent immigration interview can confirm?

I entered building with my Indian passport at my cousin's interview in 2013. And I also been there with just my driver license(CA) in January. Just show valid id to the guard and they will let you go in. Also in my local office at Sacramento we are allowed to take people. IDK if one or two. There is a mid size hall and they make the people taking oath sit on one side and guest on other.

i want to from pakistan to america on visit visa. what should be the minimum educational requirement for that?

Jot18's Link was 2014 Requirements. It is accurate. It won't change that much after March 1st. Maybe 2 or 3 hundred dollars. You need to show $29,812.00 for a household of 4 in which you are asking. Figure $30,000.00 Annually GROSS not Net Income.

For the Purposes of Immigration. Use your Gross Income before Taxes and deductions.

If you mean income by how much i suppose to make...that process starts later on when USCIS hands over case to NVC. Their income requirements are on the following link:

Im submitting assets to meet the requirement. Isnt thats going to be enough to meet the income requirement? Also do i need to write the letter why im not required to submit tax returns?

I never worked so i dont need to submit my tax documents. Am i right?
