  1. My wife and I applied for her AOS in February of 2014. On June 5th, we received a Notice of Potential Interview Waiver Case.

On December 13 we received a I-72 form requesting Marraige Certificate and Any document which would assist you in having a valid marriage.

I am a bit confused since we did send a marriage certificate (don't mind sending another) but does this mean we are waived from the interview since we didn't receive any interview date? Form I-72 needs to be mailed back to the address on the form.

  2. Hi All,

We submitted our AOS, EAD and AP and it was received on 02/10/2014. We did the bio metrics on 03/07/2014. We received notification on 04/16/2014 that the AP and EAD is Approved, and that for the AP, we will receive a letter in the mail and for the EAD, it is in card production.

On 04/21/2014, we received another noticed that the EAD card has been shipped out as on 04/21/2014.

The question is, what is the official immigration status after the AP and EAD has been approved?

P.S. We are still waiting on the AOS.

  3. No. Part 3 #7 would be 1. You are sponsoring a total of 1 person. And yes, the household size will come to 2 in Part 5. See the example form > http://www.visajourney.com/examples/INS-Form-I-864.pdf

    Thank you for this.

This is a bit confusing because 5.3 If you are currently married, enter "1" for your spouse....The person I am sponsoring is my spouse. I have to put "0" there for it to come up to 2.

Also, can I do 2013, 2012, and 2011 for the tax returns, or should i stick with 2012-2010 as I have read that 2012 is the most recent until April.

  4. Hello All,

Our Visa was approved, and we entered the US on 01/01/2014. We got the I-94 Admission Record number Online and filled out the SS-5 form Online and also printed out the RM 10211.530. We have everything ready for our application for SSN and plan on going in this Friday.

I have a quick question. After receiving the SSN, would my Fiance be able to work, or would she have to wait until the marriage to apply for an EAD?

  5. Hi All,

We are currently waiting on packet 4 with our interview date. Wile waiting, we have a vacation scheduled next week. I will be filling out the I-134 and signing it and would be walking with it for my fiance. I wanted to know if i need anything notarized as I would like to get it done and take it on vacation for her. Here is what I have gathered so far:

1.) Employment Letter (signed and dated).

    2.) Tax transcript for 2011 and 2012.

    3.) Filled out I-134.

4.) Will go to my bank and get n official statement letter of funds in my savings tomorrow.

5.) Copy of my Naturalization Certificate.

6.) Pay Stubs (can always print it online)

Question is, did I miss anything, and off the list, do I need to get anything notarized? I thought I remembered reading a post where I would need my Naturalization Certificate Notarized.

  6. On July 26th my fiancee and I were approved for a K-1 visa from the USCIS. An approval notice was mailed to me by US Mail on the same day. It's been a month and two days later and I still have not received the notice approval yet. I called the USCIS and they said file a I-824 to get a duplicate notice set to me, but this form has a $405 dollar filing fee. The embassy has already received the case from the National Visa Center. I'm confused on what to do now. I don't want to pay $405 dollars to the USCIS for a duplicate approval form, especially since I paid them $340 dollars to get the process started already. Has anyone ran into this problem ? This is not right !!!! Should I not worry about the approval form from the USCIS ?

    Thank You,

    Sam and Loida

The same thing happened to me. I have a thread about it. Basically, got approved on July 25, NVC received and transferred to to Consulate on August 7. We emailed the consulate for packet 3 and received that on August 14. We returned packet 3 on August 16. I emailed the consulate on August 27, and was advised that the case is in the que to be assigned a interview date.

Keep in mind that while all of this was going on, I never received a NOA2 from USCIS. I had called them 10 days after we got the txt/email on july 25, and was advised that it could take up to 30 days. ON August 23 however, we received another txt/email with the following:

On August 23, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

We did receive a letter from NVC that our case was transferred on August 07 to the local consulate.

  7. I have the same situation. Five weeks since approval and case still at TSC. MY NOTICE ALSO SAID SENT TO CONSULATE but that is a lie. I suspect your case and mine are still sitting on the desk of the lazy person who processed them and did not get sent to the mail station, and oone is willing to go check. So they will sit there until the approved petition expires. I contacted ombudsman, congressman, NVC RESEARCH, TSC, NSC. DOS. and no one is doing a damn thing.

Not sure i have the same problem as you.....I confirmed our case have been transferred to the local consulate, we got packet 3 via email, and they advised that our case is now in the cue to be scheduled for an interview.

Our case has been moving along, but I found it strange that we didn't get the NOA2 when we got the first email back in 07/25/2013

  8. Yeah...I found it very strange. I did call USCIS 10 days after receiving the first email, and the individual on the phone advised that it can take up to 30 days to get the NOA2. And one day I randomly received the text/email. Very odd.

I'm not stressing it though as the case is already at the local consulate, and were waiting on packet 4 to get our interview date :). I have all the NOA's received from USCIS (NOA1, and the Transferred from VCS). and also the NVC approved/transferred to locale consulate letter which I plan to bring to the interview along with the NOA2 once received.

  9. Hi All,

We received txt/email that our petetion was approved on 07/25/2013 from USCIS with the following:

On July 25, 2013, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly.

Below are the actions we took:

    1. We contacted DoS, they gave us our case number after 1 week of receiving the email.

    2. We contacted NVC with the case number, and they advised that our case was processed and transferred to the local consulate on 08/07/2013.

    3. We received a letter in the mail from NC with our case number stating that our case was transferred.

    4. Being in touch with the consulate via email, we received our packet 3 on 08/14/2013 via email, and responded on 08/16/2013.

On 08/23/2013,we received a txt/email from USCIS with the following:

On August 23, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

Just wondering if this is normal. Why are we NOW getting our NOA2 a month after??

  10. Hello,

We submitted our Packet 3, and are waiting on packet which will include the interview date, and medical.

While waiting (we have all civil documents ready), I have read(can't seem to find it anywhere now) about getting a civil document stating that you are not currently married, and you are legally free to marry. Does anyone know what/where we can get such document from?

  11. Hi All,

Our package was shipped on 08/06/2013 from NVC to the locale consulate in Guyana, and i tracked it using DHL, and saw it was delivered on 08/09/2013. I contacted the embassy on the morning before the package was delivered, and they responded with the email below:

This office is able to confirm receipt of an electronic file only. This is however an indication that the National Visa Center has transferred, or is in the process of transferring the physical case file to Georgetown.

When in receipt of the physical case file you can request that Packet 3 be sent via email.

I responded back today 08/12/2013 with a few other questions which was promptly answered, but when said that I was advised that the case was delivered, and requested to have Packet 3 emailed, this is the response I got:

This office is not in receipt of your physical case file.

How long do I have to wait until I can request to have packet 3 emailed to me?

  12. Yep that's what I was told a few days ago too.

Guys, call the DoS. It's easier to get through to them and they will have your case number. I got approved on 7/25 called NVC on 08/2 and they told me the same thing about calling in 8 weeks. On 08/05 i called DoS, and they gave my the case number, and called NVC today for a updated and found that my case was transferred to the local consulate on 08/06/2013.

  13. Are you from Vermont that transfered to Texas Center? Did you receive the email from USCIS that your case has been shipped to NVC ( not the one that said we mailed you a approval)?

I was transferred from Vermont to Texas. The last email i got from USCIS was that they shipped the approved or re-affirmed case to DoS for visa processing. For further information, please contact them directly.

Since that email, I contacted DoS for my case number, and then contacted NVC for case updates.

P.S. I still haven't received the approval letter from USCIS in the mail as yet. Guess that's taking longer than expected.
