  1. Wife sponsored a sibling back in 2016~2017. I know the actual case can take 15-20 years, but should we expect anything beyond the NOA1 at this point?
  2. You have to put some type of Pakistani address. Usually it is your home or one of a close relative (where you would presumably stay if you were to ever visit Pakistan). That's just how the system is made. It is like ID cards or DLs in the US. And before you say "bUt I LiVe iN aMeRiCa", that's just how the system works.
  3. It has both addresses because it functions as a standard Pakistani ID card within Pakistan.
  4. No harm in applying for K3 since there is no fee. There is a greater than zero probability that it helps.
  5. They will technically have to remarry their spouse so there is a new marriage date. Note this is very complicated because of Pakistani divorce laws.
  6. Pakistan does not require a marriage to be registered locally. You and your spouse should update your ID cards (using your South African marriage certificate) to show married status. That is the only "local" requirement.
  7. I meant to say that only citizens get it, so if one renounces, they do not get a NICOP. They can get a POC instead.
  8. I know people who stayed single into their 40s because their LPR parents sponsored them....
  9. You enter the applicable information but write "DECEASED" regarding residence.
  10. The majority of people keep their Pakistani citizenship unintentionally. That is to say, most assume that it went away when they naturalize in the US, but this is not true. So between those cases, and those who choose to maintain NICOPs, the majority do not renounce their Pakistani citizenship.
  11. NICOPs are ID cards given to CITIZENS.
  12. I keep hearing "22 months", where does this come from?
  13. Circling back here, in case anyone is in this situation. It seems like writing "Pakistan" on the I-130 will prompt USCIS/NVC to later request Pakistani documents. Writing "Bangladesh" will prompt them to request Bangladeshi documents if there is an RFE. In the absence of the I-130 instructions specifying current country of sovereignty vs historical, it seems like one could write what matches their birth certificate as suggested by @Yuliya Lipina YMMV.
  14. Not required if the OP has a valid Union Council birth certificate, which they say they do
  15. 1. Was the I-130 approved, or still pending? 2. Everything depends on the above question, even those who are currently under 21.
  16. I knew people who were sponsored by parents and stayed single into their 40s because they did not want to be ineligible for the GC...
  17. Where did you get married? use the document issued in that country
  18. A corrected birth certificate can be issued in a few weeks. You have plenty of time to get this fixed before applying.
  19. OP, if you do NOT want this to happen, she can go through the name update process in Pakistan. She will need to post in the newspaper for two weeks, and then take those newspaper clippings to NADRA, where they will update the record. You need to keep those clippings with you for the 20+ years so I suggest you scan them. You can prove that you two are siblings by submitting your birth certificate and your sibling's, and the documents will show both parents' names
  20. That is not true. Nikah Namas have been issues from the 1970s. You will need to get some document that says you don't have one. If you can't find it, you will need to go to the central registrar in your city, they may have an old copy or be able to provide you with a letter saying "We looked but could not find it". NADRA may also have a copy in their electronic system (they scan a lot of things)
