  1. You will be taken to secondary processing and turn in the sealed envelope. They will probably ask a few questions. Check the POE reviews here on VJ for the airport you will arrive at. http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/poereviews.php

The I-94 is automated now, so you do not need to fill that out anymore. You can get the I-94 info you need for AOS online > https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/request.html

Thank you for your reply... so we should fill out the i-94 online?

  2. @Liva

what was exactly the message from embassy? I am also in AP for a couple of days. When I sent them an email here's what they said

We have now approved the visa. Barring unforeseen problems, the visa packet will be delivered to your designated address by guaranteed courier service within 7 to 10 working days from the date of issuance.

But my status at CEAC is still on AP. I hope it will change today. idea9dv.gif

    What is CEAC??

  3. Which Embassy are you at? Once you get to the Embasy stage it is very specific to which Embassy you wil have the interview at. I could tell you that it took us only 3 days for them to schedule the interview and that interview was for 5 days later. Total of 8 days at the Embassy, but we could not get the medical done in time and had to reschedule which was 14 days later. All that is meaningless to you unless you are going thru the Almaty Consulate.

Please provide teh Embassy so we can give you a better idea.

    Good luck,

    Dave

    Hi Dave,

My fiance already had his interview and we had an unexpected typo on one of the documents that were sent to the embassy from another countries.

We fixed the mistake and resent them the info and they have had it since monday but we haven not heard anything back from them on how to move forward. That is the turnaround i am inquiring about.

  4. Hello everyone, I have a question related to my fiancé's application for the k-1 visa. The issue is that his father's first name has changed over the years, several times due to clerical errors during communism and his father never thought very much of it and let it happen. So this means that his original name, Arven has changed to Arben, and in another document it is Arrben. In our I-129F petition we put his name how it figures in my fiancés birth certificate Arven. However, now that my fiance has to acquire his justice and district court records we are concerned that his father's name will become an issue since it will be different than my fiance's birth certificate. The main question is, will his father's first name cause us any trouble? Thank you in advance for your advice.

We are currently in typo hell right now with this embassy so make sure you discourse everything and double check everything before you submit.

  5. Going to make flight arrangements for my fiance to USA this week. Can anybody tell me about ROME (FCO) airport. Is it big, small? Easy or hard to make connecting flights? AnY special concerns. My choices are Rome, or CDG - france. I hear a lot of bad about CDG-france. Amsterdam was my first choice but all connecting flights to US via AMS are already booked full.

Go with Rome- i had a 40min connecting flight out of there last sat and it was fine.

Amsterdam is nice as well- CDG is a cluster do not do it.

  6. So just to clarify again, sorry for the pain, the passport is Greek, correct? And I know that he did the interview in Albania from your previous posts. Did he do the interview in English or Albanian? If you used a Greek passport, I would translate from Greek straight to English as best you can, but would ask this question in the Greece forum/portal before doing anything. Sorry I cannot be of anymore help.

Sorry yet you are correct- he has citizenship in both Albania and Greece, but he was born in Albania and so was I so we thought it would be best we apply in Albania. The embassy asked we request/submit police reports from both countries(good standing in both) during the interview he was informed that the police certificate from the Greek authorities came back with a different spelling(this spelling does not exist in any of his documents and he has never used it).

We had requested police reports from the Greek authorities ourselves and today the embassy requested we send them that however i am just worried because of the translation of the name.

I filled out my fiancé's G325A biographic info form and had her sign it. She did not read carefully before signing, and did not catch my mistake.

I listed one of her parent's as "DECEASED" (on the "current address" box), when the parent is actually alive. In any case, the petition was approved and now while we are filling out the paperwork to take to her interview, she noticed the error. How do I rectify this situation? Should try to have it corrected now? or just hope that they don't notice it? I am worried that if I correct it, it will just cause additional delays?

i am really sorry for all the posts on your thread

  7. I would make sure that the document that you send is translated into his name in English.

and that is the problem because when you translated from- Albanian into Greek and then into English it is a different spelling of his last name(short one letter and a J turns into an I)- the reason for this is because when his last name is translated to greek some of the letters get translated into unique greek symbols that then get lost when you are translating it into English so we are left with two different spellings of the same exact last name.

  8. Hey there sebbiesmd, I do not know how long you will be in AP for. All I can suggest is to send in the document like you are doing and wait on the Consulate to receive and give you notice of their decision on your case. Do they take the passport at the Consulate interview?

Thank you for your advice it really helps to talk it out and get input.

No they didn't keep the passport- just torn if we should send the document we have or because of the last name difference and the fact that the document we have was requested from his Greek passport and due to the Greek alphabet it doesn't get translated one to one. The last name listened on the document is the Greek translation of his actual last name we listed on our paperwork. just want to make sure we do it correctly so we don't get delayed.

  9. Hey there CRAKZOR,

I am sorry I am not 100% sure, was it on the petition or on the G-325A? If on the petition I do not know what to say as I have not been in this situation, if someone else has pls feel free to chime in, but if it is on the G-325A, I would correct it and send it in to the Consulate and then take a copy with you to the interview in case it does not make it to the Consulate in time or they want another copy.

I would say that them wanting the passport is a good sign as that usually means that they will issue the visa. As to how long you are going to be in AP I cannot advise. I would wait send all the Consulate has asked for and wait for a response from them saying that they received the documents that they requested.

they didn't ask for the passport they asked we send them the document we had from the police.

  10. Our case is currently on hold due to a typo in the police certificate my fiancé has dual citizenship in. We have a police certificate onhand from this country however it was obtained with my fiancés Greek passport which is not the passport we used to file our paperwork with.

Does anyone know what the technicalities are of using this certificate? The two passports are connected the question is what do we need to send the embassy.

  11. Did you have the Consulate interview already and your application is in AP until it is corrected?

    Yes!

We were contacted today by then and they asked we send them a report with the correct last name. This is no problem because we have this document on hand however this document was requested with his Greek passport and we filed in Albania since that is where we are both form.

Do you have any advise for us?

  12. Hey there,

When I was in this process I filled out some forms that had to go to the Consulate incorrectly so what I did was contacted to Consulate to see what the policy was. I ended up sending a new copy of the specific form to the Consulate and then just in case had a copy with me at the interview. Since you have been approved and I assume that you have not sent anything to the Consulate I would wait till you get to having to send forms to the Consulate and send the updated/corrected G-325A with it and have a note explaining the error. I do not know if they will see this as misrepresentation or not, so if someone else could chime in about that it would be great. I think everything will be fine though if you just explain what happened. And if you could also please fill in your timeline, etc so that we know what Consulate you will be interviewing at, thank you very much. Blessings on your journey.

we are in the same bought we didn't put a translation of my fiances name in this form under other names used and my fiance already had the interview and our case is on hold until we correct it i do not know what to do either.
