    They need Green Cards.

You can do it by filing I-130 for both of them. Then you'll either have to get them to council process (DS-260) or adjust status by filing I-485 (if eligible).

Once they become LPRs, they'll have to apply for their naturalization on their own.

They would have to apply for citizenship when they are adults? I thought they could become citizens before since I am currently a US citizen.

  2. Hello,

I would like to have my children become US citizens as I am one as well.  They are currently in the US with me with visitor visas.

    1.  Is there a way to apply for their citizenship without first obtaining a green card? If so, what is this way and what are the forms required?

    2. If I must apply for a green card through the I-130 and I-485, then how long do they have to wait to become US citizens?

  3. Hi! I came to the United States with a Student visa in High School, and then transitioned into college with the same visa. When I graduated, I got my H1B, which was approved last December. I just married my husband and we are trying to get all of the information necessary to apply for my green card. He is a US citizen through birth. There are a few questions which are kind of hard to answer and I was hoping to get some help.

    1) Can I file the I-130 and I-485 simultaneously? If I can, what do I check on the I-485 as the reason why I am filling it out?

    2) My husband is currently unemployed and I have been supporting our home with my job for the last 10 months. I understand that he is supposed to fill out a form in which he guarantees to support me, but he is unemployed. Can I be my own sponsor since I am here on a H1B and I have been working for the same company for over 2 years now?

    Thanks so much!
