Just wanted to update:

I got a new medical scheduled for January 30th (and the cost is less than I expected ), so I'm sure I can get it sent in before March.

Hopefully most of you get processed before having to re-do the medical.

I just called a local doctor's office with 3 civil surgeons. Hopefully they get back to me asap and can fit me in somewhere. Hopefully Santa puts some money in my stocking to help pay for this.... I'm just so angry at USCIS. If they actually looked at my paperwork somewhere this summer they could have sent me the RFE months earlier. I saw all the other Feb filers get their cards and was honestly thinking I'd get mine soon. So disappointed.

According to the officer I just talked to it's because the medical was done in August last year so it expired.

I call bs because at that point a lot more Jan/Feb filers who are still waiting would have expired I-693s at this point. But there is no arguing with them so anyone else still waiting with medicals that are over a year old....be prepared to get one of these I guess.

Oh yeah, they said to include the RFE letter.

I'm on the phone with USCIS now to get the how and why. If they do take POE date as the 'year from' date for the medical, it would be good to know that because I think more people might be getting that RFE letter then.

I don't understand your question.

I don't think this is directly related to getting the Interview Waiver, but their massive delays obviously gives them the time to shuffle around paperwork to the point of losing stuff (our case is supposed to be at the National Benefit Center, but the letter said to send the new I-693 to the Oakland Park field office in Florida...we are in Massachusetts so I don't know what is up with that.)

Exact phrasing: 'Submit a completed medical examination , form I 693. The exam must be in a sealed envelope and have the medical office stamp or doctor's signature across the sealed portion of the envelope. Unsealed medical reports will not be accepted'

Looking at the USCIS site it seems it's not supposed to expire until a year after submitting it to USCIS. So if my original medical isn't supposed to expire until February 2015... It seems they might have lost my original one and that's why I need a new one? It's a pain anyway because there are no civil surgeons in our practice so I have to go through the 'new patient intake' at the one that does and that tends to take a month or two. Which is not helping if this form needs to be in by March 15.

Today I get a letter saying they need a new I 693 from me (expired or lost? Who knows?) and to send it in before March 15.

My timeline doesn't work so:

NOA1: Feb 28 2014

EAD/AP received: April

Interview Waiver letter: June 5

Request for new I-693: December 15

I think it's because it's linked with my husband's time line. We haven't really gone online here since everything was going smoothly so far so I don't really know how to fix it.

I am so upset over this. They must have known it would expire months ago and just when I think we're in the home stretch, they pull this nonsense.

February filer here. We got our NOA1 on Feb 28. We got the June 5 Interview Waiver letter.and just now I got a letter saying I have to re-do my I-693 Medical Exam and send it in before March 15. I'm thinking it expired or they lost it because I definitely sent it in the first time. Not looking forward to paying $250 out of pocket again for a strange doctor to tap my back and tell me I'm too fat.
