  1. We were approved last night!!!!!!

Everyone, don't lose hope, you are SO close!!!!

This helped me: "happiness is reality minus expectations". Change your expectations with VSC. I wanted NOTHING more then to spend the holidays with my fiancee, and that only was making me upset and making me have meltdowns because there was NOTHING I could do about VSC. FINALLY, I started planning on my fiancee NOT being in the States for the holidays, and started making plans to do something together in Europe (albeit having to spend more money on airfare, hotels, etc). But once that happened, I became SO much happier and relaxed. I stopped worrying about when it would come, stress disappeared, and of course, the minute I stopped worrying about them, thats when we were approved!

Look back at my posts. After I called USCIS last week, I had my last meltdown, gave up on EXPECTING this to happen soon, and you'll see my personality change to happy in my posts since then! It seriously helped so much!!! We started talking about different trips, changed focus, and our stress plummeted.

I think and hope EVERYONE in here will be with their SO's in the States SOON. This process is SOOO stressful, I hope everyone has the great news I had last night VERY, VERY, VERY soon!!!

  2. Ok so I got the notification 15 mins ago, I was with my fiancée . We went just now to a café and I told her even though I was excited that we need to prepare for the worst scenario.. We got hyped up still only to find out we got the RFE notification.

On one side we are bummed out but we are feeling better now as te RFE process is not so long. I'm sure ya something stupid I forgot ( like the rest of the passport

pages) and this should set us back another 3 wks??

WHats the ongoing average on RFEs?

I've seen a few recently go as fast as 14 days. Not a huge speed bump by any means. You're almost out of the woods!! Congrats!! It's good news, they worked on your case! :)

  3. I doesn't mean anything... it can happen anytime..

100% true Kaaha! What is so hard with this is not knowing... we literally could hear TODAY, or in 2 weeks... But not knowing, its easy to think pessimistically. Our day will be here, and we won't know which day it is!!

All we know is soon, in the near future for all of us one random morning "today is the day" will finally be true!

Chins up guys, 99% of the waiting is over... it IS ANY day for us!!! :)

  4. I guess I will join the party tonight, too. I got home from work and my status at USCIS was changed to post decision activity for approval. I just got off the phone with my fiancee, as I wanted to let her know about it before posting here. Thanks for everyone's support. So many of you are literally only hours away from your approvals now. Stay strong - it is coming and I'm very excited to watch the rest of your approvals roll in!

    Congrats Starflyer!!!

  5. This is just RETARDED! Our congressman contacted the USCIS and their freaking response was "this file in under officer's rewiev. You should hear something in 60 days" 60?!?!?! Are you f** kidding me? I am just crying like a beaver now.. No hope left whatsoever...

Don't worry, they say 60 days for the same reason they say they are still working on February 6th. You will hear WAAAYYYY before that!

  6. So we are at the mercy of the person's mood on the phone then?

Apparently... this girl was REALLY upset that she had to do her job. And then when I asked to be transferred to a tier 2, she was SO disgusted, you would think I was asking her to physically run 15 miles. If they hadn't recorded my receipt number, I wanted to say, "to transfer me, you just press a button, right? I'm confused by your overly dramatic sigh."

It's weird cause I thought OUR lives were put on hold for OVER 6 months, but apparently we don't know how easy we have it compared to pushing buttons on the phone!

  7. Well, I have an update as I called USCIS during my lunch break (from my car no less). The girl who answered was actually very friendly and nice. She seemed genuinely stunned that I've waited so long. After she said they were processing February 6 at VSC, I explained to her that the information was outdated and how I knew for a fact March 15, 20 and even April are getting approved. She then offered to put in a service request for me. I didn't have to get mad or ask for a 'tier 2' person. She put in the request and said to call back if I didn't hear back after 15 days. Who knows if it will help, but at least it feels like some sort of forward motion.

How do you get someone on the phone? lol Everytime I call, it tells me to enter my reciept number, then always tells me I didn't put in enough numbers, and hangs up. GRR!!!

  8. omg we have been approved!! I really was expecting a denial or an RFE because I originally sent just our application and the payment, no evidence etc. Well after joining visa journey I realized this horrible mistake! So immediately started putting everything together although I knew there was a slim chance that they would match my application with the paperwork. I included a letter explaining the mistake I made, some Angel must of taken mercy on us. So this morning as I was oversleeping ( late to work right now actually) I was awaken by a text message from USCIS, and I was thinking great these jerks are about to ruin my day but nope this is what I got when I logged on to the website! If the interview goes well our baby will have her daddy here maybe for thanksgiving or at least for christmas. I'm due in 3 weeks!

On September 11, 2012, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State.
