Our Story
Well, my story probably isn't too much different from anyone else's who met at a Spanish language institute in Mexico and dated for two.5 years. We've made use of free Voip technology with Sipphone (with very mixed luck), video conferencing over IM, emails. Now we're mostly using T-Mobile to talk every other day. They've got a 5 cent a minute to Mexico add-on plan that is good. I tried to get a travel visa for my fiancee but got rejected on that because she doesn't make enough money -- and Mexico City didn't give a rip about how well I could sponser her. Ironically, I was able to fly her over to Canada for a vacation just fine, because Canada doesn't have their noses in the air over immigration. So, we're going to try and begin the K1 marriage visa process in July of 2006. I hope that will work, otherwise I'll be packing my bags for Mexico for good - which at this point in my irritation with INS, wouldn't be a huge problem for me. :) Anyway, I'll post my news here so future people may learn from my misery. :D
