  • Our Story
Hi everyone,i just wanna tell you our story on how the visa interview was.We stayed at this b&b La Dimora di Nettuno very close to the consulate 5 min walk.

The first day was our medical appointment at Instituto Varelli. We took a taxi that cost us 10 euro each way.We arrive there around 7:15am.The lady at the desk ask for my passport and after 5 min of waiting another lady called me for the blood draw for syphilis and she told me to wait outside on the yellow chairs till the doctor calls me in.When the doctor called me in was only to check my vaccination records he said i need two tetanus and mmr,he asked for one photo and the fee that was 225euro,then he said to wait outside.Another doctor called my name and he did the review of my ds-3026 and he only ask me if i ever abused alcohol or another ilegal drugs i told him no,then he took my blood pressure, he ask me to lay down and he listen to my heart and push my belly to see if i felt any pain, after that the lady that was inside took my height , weight and made me read some letters to see if i'm blind or not(lol),after that the doctor administrate me the shoots and that was it.Then again they told me to wait outside to do the x-ray chest and when they called me for that they told me i have to be at the consulate at 2pm for fingerprints.I was done in 2 h.
At 2 pm we went to the consulate for fingerprints the 10 of them and they ask for one photo which they scanned in the computer and gave it back to me.She also asked about my police records from here if it says "generale" or "penale" cause the "penale" wasn't the right ones and the "carichi pendenti" u have to have it.

Second day the interview. We arrived there at 07.00am we were seconds. They let us in to the consulate by 07.40,our appointment was at 07.30 like everybody else that was there. We went to the second floor the same as where we did the fingerprints and a men told us to form a line.We were called by a lady threw a glass window that ask me for:birth certificate(original and translation)2 photos, police records from spain, romania and italy(original and translation)the i-864 affidavit of support ,transcripts.w2,the ds-230,and the original and copy of my marriage certificate, she gave me back all the originals and the yellow envelope with my medical record and told me not to open it until the port of entry ,then she gave me a paper to sign and another one to pay the fee 230$ at the cashier and take her back the receipt. Then she told me to wait till the consul calls me for the interview. We were the first ones on making the interview. Before the consul called me she was going threw all my papers (i was able to see her cause the interview is threw the glass window)maybe to see if everything was in order or to see what she was going to ask me.Anyway she called my name and she make me raise my right hand and make me swear that was all true.I swear and she start the questions:where u first meet each other? when was that?u start living together before or after the marriage?where did u got married?how did u got married?(our marriage was a proxy marriage)why u want to go to America? and she asked my husband where are u stationed?what's your rank?and when are u leaving italy? She make me sign my ds-230 took my fingerprint only four fingers on my right hand and told me to go at 5pm at the mailboxes to pick up my passport. That was it we were out in two and a half hours.i couldn't believe how easy it was all this and how stress we were about it and for nothing.
We went to the mailboxes by 4.30 pm and paid 7 euro and they gave me my passport with my visa and the big brown envelope and told us not to open it till we arrive at the port of entry.

My advice don't stress out to much especially if u have everything in order and u really love the person who u are married. There is no better feeling when me and my husband knew that we have the visa cause we have so many dreams and plans on buying a house have children and many other dreams we have and now we know that they are going to come true once i got my visa.

I hope our story is going to be helpful in your process and i wish u all good luck and God Bless u All
