  1. Hi All!

Joining this group. We will be filing our joint i-751 application on September 29th. My husband's Conditional GC expires on October 30th.

Just one quick question, do the affidavits need to be notarized? We will be getting two affidavits (one from my dad and one from my husband's bestfriend/bestman) for our application.

    Thanks all,

    Dani and Rey

  2. Hello guys! I am starting this thread for a friend who doesn't have an account on here. She came to me asking for advice but I really don't know what to tell her so here I am, asking you all in hopes that someone here can give some advice on what to do with her case.

So this friend of mine applied for I-130 (concurrent filing with I-485) for her husband August of last year. They were interviewed October 2012 but unfortunately, they were not approved on the spot (whatever the reason is, I don't know). She asked the IO if there was something wrong with their application and the IO said, everything was fine, they just need more information from them. Several days later, they received a letter saying that if they don't get an update about their case in 91 days, they would have to schedule for an infopass.

They have been to three (3) infopass since February yet still, nothing has happened. During their last visit, they were told that their application is "probably" still on the IO's desk since no update since the interview has been reported nor made. Infopass personnel advised them to write the IO requesting for an update about the case.

Has someone ever experienced this before? If so, are there any sample letters out there that can guide them what and what not to write to have the IO expedite his decision on their case?

Thank you so much! Comments, tips, suggestions are highly appreciated.

  3. Hello All!

It's been a while since my last post and I just wanna let you know that it's been a great few months after my husband got his conditional greencard.

Anyway, he just got a call for a second interview at Fox Filmed Entertainment today. His first interview lasted for about 2 hours after meeting the HR Head, a panel of 3 Executives and the Senior VP.

Now, that he got a call back, he doesn't know what to expect. I don't have any experiences on second interviews either so we would really appreciate if any of you can give us tips on DO's and DON'TS and what to expect.

This is 20th Century Fox and we really want him to get the job. Any advise is greatly appreciated.

    Best,

    Dee and Rey

  4. I dont know why your friend would worry if they have a real marriage. What would the issue be if USCIS came out to the home or did an investigation. If everything is in order dont worry. Ignore her and move on. If she starts threatening physical harm or coming by thier home then you can get a restraining order.

She really isn't worried about USCIS doing another investigation because I told her that she has all the evidences that there marriage is real. She's just stressed out having gone all the preparations and now that it's all over, here comes the ex stirring the pot and giving her things to think about. She told me that her only concern is that even though their marriage is real, if the ex pursues to call USCIS, their names might get tainted and might cause them some problems when they apply to remove the conditions 2 years from now.

  5. I don't think, uscis will listen to a jealous ex girlfriend. They did their own investigation already and approved the gc! So I don't think they are going to spend their time on her!

Thank you for your response. That's exactly what I said to my friend. She is just stressed out that their names will be reported that may cause them some problems when they apply to remove the condition.

  6. Hello guys! I have a friend who's been asking me questions but I couldn't really answer most of it so I thought I'd come here to ask you guys.

I have a friend (USC) who married and petitioned her overstaying husband. Their I-130 and I-485 applications have been approved recently and they've already received the GC last week. For the record, their marriage is genuine so they didn't have a hard time getting approved during their interview.

Now here's the problem. My friend's husband's ex-girlfriend found out about it very recently and it seemed like the ex-GF hasn't moved on yet. Now she's been threatening the couple, as posted on her FB posts, that she will report them for marriage fraud even after the couple's petition has already been approved.

My friend's question is, if the ex-GF pursues to call USCIS and submit their names for marriage fraud, will USCIS still do further investigations like random house visits or is a second interview be possible at all even after approval?

I told my friend not to worry because she has all the proof in the world that their marriage is real. She is just too stressed out because after having their applications approved, now here comes the ex-GF threatening to ruin their lives.

What should my friend do? Is there anything she can do to get back to this ex-GF? Your comments and suggestions are appreciated.

  7. Just got home from the interview and very happy to inform y'all that we got approved on the spot.

It was a very easy and pleasant experience. We were interviewed for about 30 minutes. 10 minutes was just confirmation of data we put on the application forms and 20 mins was spent for questions about my husband's interest in film (he has a BA in Film) and touristic spots in the Philippines. The IO who interviewed us was a Filipino guy who seemed to miss Philippines a lot and asked us about our provinces back home. He never even asked how we met.

He took all of the documents we brought with both our names on them (bank statements, utility bills, house lease agreement and life and dental insurances).

God is so good. We were in all smiles as we left the room.

  8. Hello Guys!

After four months of waiting, my husband and I are finally having our interview tomorrow in Downtown Los Angeles.

Any tips you could give us? What are the questions like?

Also, one of the things we need to bring as stated on the notice is a letter of employment and pay stubs for the last 2 months. My dad co-sponsored for us. I've asked him for these but he hasn't given them to me yet and I don't think he'll be able to give them to us tonight. If we don't bring them to the interview, what will happen? By the way, I have a copy of his W2's and ITR's for 2009, 2010 and 2011. Would that be sufficient for now?

All of your comments, tips and suggestions are highly appreciated.

    Be blessed!
