Me and Devin met in Tübingen while I was doing my BA studies and he was a visiting scholar from Yale in 2010. We experienced what some people might call "love at first sight" :), feeling connected because of our family histories (both grew up without a dad and are "mixed"), and many other wonderful reasons! :) I continued with my Master's studies here in Germany and Devin went back to the US to finish his PhD. Last year I visited him in the US for a month and HE PROPOSED!!! :))) It was the best day of our lives and it happened at Lake Tahoe while on a road trip across the US. In the meantime I had applied to Yale as well, so we could live and study together and got accepted, program starting this fall. Now we are waiting for Uncle Sam to decide upon our future... hopefully we can be together again soon, it's the worst thing ever to finally find somebody you truly love, and be forced to live on two different continents due to bureaucratic issues... Wish us good luck :)
