We met about 10 years ago when we both joined the same Music School; he was the drummer and I the singer of an R&B band within the school. We became instant friends sharing a sarcastic wit and a passion for music.
Fast forward 10 years and that friendship turned into love.
We began "poking" at the idea of being more than just friends in September of 2011. In January he came to visit and we knew that this is what we wanted. In April 2012 he proposed and in June 2012 we filed for a K-1 visa. He came to visit in October 2012. We hope to finally be together early next year. Fingers crossed!
I've heard many say it, but only now I understand ... I get to marry my best friend!
