    The instructions state that to file the I485 you have to have an inspected entry into the US. This a good time to get an attorney.

    It’s hard to gage from a high crime embassy what to think. I do know woman who are older and did not have any problems but they dated for 5 years before they got engaged. Another couple they were both from the same island.

    You can file new I-485 but consult with a lawyer first as spouse has a ban on file. That is different than an overstay.

    As others have stated that you were required to remain single until your immigration. Your mother should have notified them when you got married and then you would not be going through this big ordeal of updating your petition.

    Jamaica is a country where majority of people file based on what people tell them versus learning the guidelines, so this level of questioning is not uncommon.
