Income Requirements not met?
Cathi replied to Seino's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
Why on Earth did she quit her job to move there? I get that you want her to experience your country and culture, but doing it in the midst of you immigrating to the U.S was not the best move. Obviously neither of you has done much research into just how expensive the K-1 process is. It would be best if your fiancé joined VJ as the U.S citizen and sponsor. -
I'm just wondering why she would want to stay or return to the U.S. If it were me, and I were pregnant with an abusive soon to be ex, I would want to go home to my family and raise the child at home. That's just me. If she stays here, or comes back after the baby is born, it will not be easy for her. Being a single mom is not easy, especially alone in a country where you don't know anyone. The cost of living alone is the U.S is astronomical. How would she be able to afford to live here? Just throwing that out there because it's definitely something for her to consider. I mean what happens if she stays, gets into a custody battle and wants to go home. She won't be able to once the baby is born.

Help,I'm confused
Cathi replied to Alex7012's topic in Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)
Agreed. I have been on this site 11 plus years and I've never seen success in this situation. Not even once. USCIS will request a divorce decree for your fake marriage. A divorce decree for a marriage that never happened. Do you understand where this is going? -
I've been on this site for 11 years and nothing about USCIS and it's processing times have been predictable or made any sense whatsoever. Just when you think you have it figured out, something changes for no apparent reason, without explanation. Trying to figure it all out will drive you crazy. My husband and I had a very simple journey, from submitting his I-130, up to including naturalization, never so much as even having an RFE at any stage. And we had some major so-called "red flags". At the same time, others who started when we did, who had no red flags took months and in many cases, years longer.

Received Jury Summons letter as LPR
Cathi replied to OldUser's topic in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
My husband was summoned as an LPR and he merely responded saying he was not yet a citizen. That was the end of it, no one ever contacted him again(in New Hampshire). -
My advice is a marry and file a CR1. Less expensive by far and no waiting to work or travel for partner after arriving.

There is no waiver for a visitor visa.

So your mom came with a b2 and also just so happened to have a serious health issue and adjusted status, as well? And how can you afford her health insurance because she certainly cannot get it from you? Way too many falsehoods. There is no way your father will ever set foot here again, the only way for them to reunite is for her to go home to him.

Flew to and from Florida for a week and no one even looked at my scripts, they were in my purse and went thru the xray machine There was an officer with a dog sniffing carry-ons, purses and such, coming home from Florida, and the dog never flinched. I carry them in the original script bottles and keep them all together in a plastic bag. Again, I travel all over the world all of the time and I have never once been questioned a single time about my meds and what I have, is far stronger than Tramadol.

Not true, there are many different diseases that people take long term pain meds for, I am one of those people. I have lupus(SLE) and I have been on schedule II opioids for 2 decades and my pain management doctor has prescribed more than that to me when I travel to Jordan, sometimes I go for 2, 3 or even 4 months at a time. I take schedule II meds, 3 different types, a patch and 2 different prescriptions. As pain meds go, Tramadol is not very strong at all, it's only a schedule IV. I inform my pharmacist in advance that I will be filling more than the normal amount when I travel for more than a month, that's just because I've been using the same pharmacy and pharmacist for 30 years and I do it to make sure he has the amount that I need. Pain meds are not easy to get in this country and there are very strict federal guidelines that both doctor and patient have to follow. But for people like me, who suffer from soul crushing, debilitating pain, pain meds are a necessary part of life and I make no apologies for taking them. Without them I would live my entire life in bed.

I have lupus and I take 2 different types of schedule II opioids and I wear a pain patch that is also schedule II (all to control severe, debilitating, chronic pain) and I travel domestically and internationally with my meds several times a year, in fact I am flying domestically tomorrow, and I have never once had any problems whatsoever. As long as the scripts are in their original bottles and the number of pills match the number on the bottle, I can't see her having a problem. I have traveled back and forth internationally with more than that number of pills. In fact, now that I think of it, I have never even been questioned about them. I go to Jordan for at least 2 months every year and , have layovers and travel to different countries often, London, Paris, Istanbul, Frankfurt, Vienna, Barcelona, Dubai, Chile, Italy, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Virgin Islands, Aruba and on and on and on. Never any questions. The only time I have ever pulled aside going through security was in Vienna, I had a broken leg with a cast and they checked my cast with a chemical that detects residue for explosives. If you are truly that concerned, have her get a note from her doctor. I have never notified anyone I was traveling with meds, I didn't even know that was a thing.

You cannot work while here with a b2 visa. It's for visiting, not working. Period.

I-130 for parents abroad questions
Cathi replied to irertwert's topic in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
Just to be clear. Traveling to the U.S with a visitor visa (B1/B2) with the intent to STAY and ADJUST STATUS is visa fraud. Do not attempt to do this under any circumstances. Period. End of story. -
Education difference?
Cathi replied to clericbeast's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
I'm one of those people. I am 21 years older than my husband, I'm previously divorced, He's Muslim- I"m Catholic. We had no issues whatsoever overcoming any of those red flags, not even so much as an RFE for the entirety of his immigration journey. We've been happily married for 12 years. OP: I've been on VJ for 11 years and I have never once seen anyone denied because of education differences, I've never even seen it come up. You don't have anything at all to worry about. Best of luck. -

Bringing Elderly Parent over for visit(s) who was banned almost years ago
Cathi replied to Darkchop's topic in Tourist Visas
An immigrant visa is for living here, not going back and forth. You stated she didn't want to live here.
