I went with Dr. Cheema, I took my immunization records printed from the AB and BC healthcare websites. He asked a few simple questions and that was it. You would then go for an x-ray and blood test.

@AliceVancouver it took a month for me to get my physical cards. But, before that, I travelled 4 times to the US with my endorsed visas just fine. At Vancouver airport, Amtrak Pacific Central, Point Roberts and Blaine Pacific Highway land borders.

my understanding is that the employment is all about the future. As long as you can get a letter from your employer promising the employment in the future, that they will hire you for the same job that was identified and described on your I-140, then you are good to go.

@ghp2019 Yes, I received such a misleading scary email as well but after few days I got the email that they now received all the documents and my file is Documentarily Qualified. Looks like they haven't fixed their system even after 2 years.

@newbie75 @ACC24 when my wife and I did our landing at YVR airport, the first officer took pictures but the second officer who did the actual processing didn't do any biometrics, no finger-printing, nothing. At least, he opened our sealed envelopes, processed them and kept the contents. Finally, I asked him about fingerprints but he simply said, "nope not needed, you will get your greencards". 🙄

No, nothing in that regard. The officer didn't mention anything about the DS-260 during my interview, if I remember correctly. Every case is different, and so the officers know exactly what to ask and where to dig a little deeper. I would suggest you guys to go in confident and be honest and focus on your specific case. Be clear in what you did in the past and what you are going to do in the future. The officer will approve the case as long as there is no red flag or anything fishy. Simple and easy process overall except for the extensive delay of course.

@Lkkclub123 I don't think we are allowed to make changes to the DS-260 application forms after we get the DQ letter from NVC. I had so many particulars that changed over the 2-year period, so I just made a note on a sheet of paper for my interview. But, I didn't have to use that or even look it up during the interview except for the address change.

My wife and I are flying to Denver end of April and so we will have to do the landing at YVR airport, not sure if anyone has done the admission at a pre-clearance location. Any concerns or thoughts?

@mm_101 my understanding is that the Priority Date should stay current until you go for the in-person interview at the consulate and the visa was issued. I know its insane 🤮

the guy at the London Drugs put a rubber stamp with the date and their location on the back of my 2 photos. Do you guys know if that is ok? Any experience from our seniors who went through the interview?

I just got back from a local London Drugs store. When I said I need pictures for the US passport or US visa, the guy at their photo lab immediately said it will be 2x2 and he knows what to do. He didn't even look at my printout of the photo specifications template that I took with me.

by the time I got the confirmation email from Dr. Cheema, I see my NVC status updated with a new date on the line... Case Last Updated: 01-Mar-2023...

Yes, if all goes well you can be back at YVR by 3pm for a flight after 5pm or so. My appointment was at 7 am and we were back home (near the airport) by noon. It was a snow day and we just took it easy and even had lunch nearby.

what difference would that make? I don't understand. I am planning to do my POE in Vancouver because that is where I live now. I used to live in Calgary. I would have done it there if I still lived there.

It took a total of 2 or 3 hours for me. I live in Vancouver now. But, when I was in Calgary last year, I was planning to stay at least 2 nights in Vancouver for this process and do some sightseeing around the city.

medical exam went well today with Dr. Cheema. Just one issue - the US destination address that I gave to his office clerk is a new one and thus didn't match with what she sees in the system (as per my DS-260). She said she can only use what they see in the system. So, I am wondering if I can change that US destination address with NVC or consulate now, just one month before the interview?

just thinking ahead for planning purposes - if and when we receive our Immigrant visas, do we have to wait until we physically move to our destination closer to our employer or can we do a quick round trip to the land border nearby just to activate our visas and become permanent residents? In my case, I live in Vancouver but my employer is in Colorado. Wondering if I can do a quick road trip to the Blaine border crossing right away before actually moving to Colorado which will happen in a month or so?

did anyone try consulting with an immigration attorney to get a training for the interview or at least review the application and get some suggestions or tips before attending the consulate interview? My employer's attorney did what they can by providing a job reference letter but nothing more. Just curious what you guys are doing or thinking about the whole process? Thanks 👍

I hear you, but waiting for one year is killing you already? My I-140 was filed and approved 13 years ago and I am still waiting.

I added my wife as an Additional person to my same profile by clicking Add Applicant during the process of my registration for the first time. When I login now, I do see both of our names, passport numbers, case number (the same for both of us) as 2 Applicants in 2 rows. Hope I did the right thing??

Just got the email with the interview scheduled for March 28th. My DQ is Feb 18, 2021.
