anyone know why my receipt number is not on this approval form i have? i cant currently find the biometrics appt letter which contains it and i would like to add my case to the status page of uscis.gov

i was very surprised to get the approval so early... the I-797 weirdly did not contain my receipt number for the case which i find strange.. heres a pic... file number is my alien number fyi

Got my approval yesterday, its dated the 14th, would have got it sooner but it got slowed down in the mail due to address forwading! Very happy,

Guys I'm going to drag this topic back up as I am having awful trouble with the dps and would like some help if anyone can figure this out....

So my i94 expired on dec 24th.... I went to dps early jan with my I-797 for aos. The lady said yep no problem I can use it etc. we went through the processing of it all, had my picture taken etc and I was thinking great, finally I can book the road test. Then, right at the end, computer said no and I was told in should go home and wait for a letter explaining the hold up.

So, I got my letter and it says that my I-94 couldn't be verified! I guess this is because it is expired, but that's not my fault and I can't change this fact.

So I went back to the dps and they just tell me that they can't do anything Neil the computer lets them, she showed me the screen and next to my A number it just says "pending".

So basically DHS are trying to verify me but they can't because they see my i94 is expired. It's driving me nuts! I just want a damn license and I'm being made to feel like I don't have my immigration docs in order. Which I know I do. I have a valid noa1 which they as they accept, so why won't they? Is there anything else I can do?

I should have my advanced parole doc through in the next coupe days, I'm told that dps accept that also, but I think that when the computer asks for all the numbers such as my a number and I-94 as well as the sveis for advanced parole, it's still going to reject me as it sees my i94 is out. Even though its impossible for me to fix that because I'm k-1. Grrrr

Can anybody help me?... I did my research, went to the DPS... waited for 2 hours, then was told that i could go ahead if i wish, but when i get my drivers license it will expire on the expiry date shown on my I-95 (Dec 24th)... then i will have to renew my license, however, problem is that after december 24th i will have no proof that i am on a legit visa or that im waiitng for AOS (filed AOS docs 2 weeks ago)... so i wont be able to renew my license!??

So this means i will have to wait until i physically receive my Green card until i can prove i am a LPR and show some sort of expiry date so they can give me either a 2 year or 6 year license. Ok so why dont i just wait i hear you ask?... because im only allowed to drive on my UK DL for 90 days upon POE and also Geico want to know my Texas DL number by March 2013 latest or they will no longer cover me.. then im screwed because i wont be insured therefore i cant take my driving test!!

I must be missing something, a way around this, or something, otherwisde every K-1 who goes to Texas would have the same problem. There is basically no way for me to obtain a Texas DL in a reasonable amount of time or without doing something illegal with insurance.

I guess my question is, do the DPS accept any kind of document that i have now or will be getting very soon as proof of LPR ? They are very strict and will not accept just any old document.

GOOD NEWS UPDATE!! .... the dx.co.uk has my package arriving tomorrow!! WHOOP!! plenty of time to spare (3 working days lol) .... dont worry kissyfish youll be fine with a 14 day gap between interview and wedding... he should be good for poe after 8/9 days if you manage to book a plane ticket for that fast.

Im a little worried!... the website quotes that it takes them 7-10 business days to process the passport and give it to the couriers... i had my interview on the 13th and my flight is booked for the 26th... so unless they process mine on the 7th working day and the courier delivers it the next day, im screwed!... dont know why i had it in my head that id have my passport back within a week.

Whats peoples experience with london? how long did it take you to get your passport back after interview ? Thanks.

First things first for me will be apply for SSN... then i already have a deposit on my car and im going to pick it up on the morning after poe.

but then things just get blurry for me... what important things do i need to do within lets say the first 3 days of arrival into the US ?

Obviously im going to get married but thats happening 12 days after my arrival.

i keep reading in the embassy interview reviews that people are asked for their employment letter as well as the affadavits and support forms.

is it necessary to have a letter from my employer? and what is the reason please?

Thing is, i gave up my job back in may because i have enough money to see me through no problem. so i dont have any kind of employment letter. :S Hope this isnt a problem

I know the embassy received my info from NVC on Monday 6th August.

I just had my medical today and they told me that the embassy would receive my results no later than Tuesday 14th.

Could i send in my packet 3 docs to arrive on Tuesday? even though i havent received packet 3 letter from them yet ? would it matter or cause any problems?

i want to make a short 2 week trip in about 3 weeks time. (im the beneficiary, going to Houston)

should i be ok on my ESTA ? its just a bit of a weird situation because i now have my A number (printed on NOA2)

am i likely to have problems? or will i just be asked a few questions and aslong as i answer truthfully i should be ok ? Everything here is legit, obviously i am going to return to UK so i can have my interview, then pack the bags again and fly out on a one way.

What steps can I take once my 5 months has passed with no noa2?

This whole wait has pretty much screwed up both our lives for the moment. Our budget is out the window, the time we initially prepared ourselves to be apart for has lengthened and lengthened and is now at a ridiculous amount of time. We are desperate, just like everyone else. I have a website noa1 of feb 3rd and paper notice date of 7th. Just wondering if it is time to start making a few calls ? Any help appreciated, thanks.
