Naturalization Ceremony
gstrength replied to quistarrok's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
yes, scan it and save it. you can fill out the forms but, when it comes to voter's registration, it is easier to do it online. As far as the passport goes, your best bet is to fill out the form, get the pictures and go to the post office. but check out the requirements for a first time passport applicant, -
Naturalization Ceremony
gstrength replied to quistarrok's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
Also, I recommend to digitalize your certificate of naturalization immediately, before you apply for a passport, this because you have to send the certificate of naturalization (the original) along with the application, it will be returned (altough separate from the passport) -
Naturalization Ceremony
gstrength replied to quistarrok's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
when you walk in, somebody will ask you a few questions (has anything changed since the interview? taken any trips?) they will take your green card and point you to a seat. A welcome and congratulatory video from the president and maybe you get special speakers to give a speech, oath ceremony where you are going to recite the oath of allegiance then national anthem. After the ceremony there usually are volunteers that are going to give you a voter's registration and passport form. It is a very moving and emotional experience, the culmination of a long road for many. As for the passport check out this link.https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/News/passports/passport-processing-updates.html#:~:text=As of December 18%2C 2023,which costs an additional %2460. Congratulations. -
Will having two last names be a problem when doing the Green Card process?🤔no problem at all. when my wife went through the process she used both surnames as one last name, no hyphenation ( perez martinez). all her documents are like this: first name: Marcela last name: Perez Martinez Is being married but having different last names a red flag?🤔 We never changed our last names, only in the way indicated above. She is a citizen now. congratulations on your upcoming wedding

What is the next step after Green Card
gstrength replied to fabsfabs's topic in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
you can pay it as soon as you get your visa. check out this link https://my.uscis.gov/uscis-immigrant-fee it explains the preocedure -
fil the form online (pdf fillable) print it, sign it, scan it and upload it Photos: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/photos.html#immigrant Check out this link, photos are very easy to do. What I did, I took a picture with my Iphone(following all the requirements) and then use the tool to crop it and uploaded it, I would suggest to take passport style photos and keep them with you (I don't know if she have to take them to the Medical)in our case, everything was digital,, no printed photos. I was only asked about the transcript from the year that was indicated on the I-864, but I had the other transcripts ready, also, before the beneficiary was approved, I was asked to upload w-2's from the most recent year and check stubbs from the current year It is correct, do not need a translation if they are in english or the language of the country This is my (recent) experience with NVC. I wish you well

Could anybody tell me the documents to upload to ceac to support the form I-864. I uploaded the following: Form I-864 (signed) Certificate of naturalization Tax Return Transcript I received a message saying: "This upload contains two documents that must be uploaded separately, or you submitted this document as the wrong Document Type. Please delete the uploaded document and submit the document under the correct Document Type" Am I missing something? because I do not understand what it is that I uploaded wrong. As always, thank you for your help

Hello everybody: My mother in-law's IV was approved, she received her passport with the visa in it, however, no envelope was received (the one you are not supposed to open and give to the officer at POE). When she went for medical examination, all the results were sent to the embassy digitally, she did not have to go to the interview with any papers. Is this normal now? she wont have to carry an envelope at POE? there is a notation on her visa that reads: "IV DOCS IN CCD" what does that mean? Like always, I thank you for your help

Hello everybody, I hope somebody can help me out with this question. my mother in law has an interview scheduled for april 17, going over the documents i realize that the I-864 was filled out and submitted with the wrong amount (smaller than it should have been) and cutting it close to the FPL. correct amount should have been 51,040.00 and i wrote 37,169.30 I do not know why. What should I do?
