Hello, My parent is a U.S. Green Card holder and is currently in the United States. They plan to travel abroad for at least a year due to family reasons. I understand that Form I-131 can be filed online or uploaded, but the initial questions on the application are a bit confusing. Could someone please clarify which application type and eligibility option should be selected for a Green Card holder applying for a reentry permit? Thank you in advance for your help! 1) What application type are you filing for? Do i select: New Period of Parole: No Parole Program or Process? 2) What is your eligibility category? Initial Request for Arrival/Departure Record for Parole in Place (for aliens who are inside of United States)

yeah those reports were submitted and verified. It could be that they are still working on them. Does it mean US Consulate will work with local authorities to verify authenticity of the criminal record?

We were told that AP will take roughly 3 months by IO. however, now it's been 9 months and still no updates. According to the Embassy's immigration unit case is still pending. Does anyone have any idea how long it takes? For the context: IR-5.

Hello, I’ve heard reports that U.S. Customs is asking some Green Card holders if they want to give up their status upon entry. Some were even asked to sign documents. Not sure if this is just a rumor or a scare tactic. Have you heard anything about this?

is NVC no longer available after DQ and scheduled interview? This is very frustrating because embassy claims that they dont have required documents but the only way for application to move forward is NVC verifies and DQs everything. Where am i supposed to upload documents?

Get it from both countries, primary and where they used to live. I speaking from personal experience we were asked to provided a criminal record clearance from other country even it was 20 years ago.

Yes, it will ask you to submit required documents. Generally police clearance is requested.

Initial NOA was Nebraska Service Center for both petitions but for approved parent NOA2 states Texas. I guess we wait.

No updates to date. However, first parent NVC DQ. I am thinking it will continue to progress or wait until 2nd parent approves. Who knows i guess.

Does anyone know what is the average wait time for the interview after NVC DQ?

Do you know how soon each case was approved. Only one parent approved thus far in NVC where i submitted mostly everything. other parent is still shows 2 months... Anyone else can provide approval time frame between parents? Thanks,

USCIS will update your case if to let you know that you case has been sent to NVC for further process (they dont always do that). Or will you receive an email from NVC that they have your case and CASE ID and Invoice ID assigned. When you are able to log in you have to pay first, only then when payment processed you can start your applications otherwise you cannot do anything. When making payments just know that you can only pay one at a time.

I guess i am confused why it is so laughable. Moreover, you actually can select more than one option because application allows it.
