  1. Yes I suggested that maybe they should just pay the fee but I guess they just didnt have the resources after paying rent. But having snap benefits as a parolee is supposed to be an acceptable reason for USCIS.
  2. Application was rejected for non payment. Package was then resent with proof of snap benefits attached to I-912. Claiming financial distress or hardship with no evidence didnt work in this case.
  3. Thanks for the reply Yes it was delivered to dallas lock box. Would USCIS still be likely to send out a receipt notice if there were problems with the Fee Waiver evidence? Is someone merely claiming financial hardship and homelessness without including any evidence likely to pass muster for a fee waiver request? Can lock box support accept an attached copy of the Fee Waiver evidence?
  4. Its for a work authorization issued to humanitarian parolees, I believe they issue a I-766 work authorization "pink card" to the parolee supposedly after about 90 days. Hopefully they will still issue a receipt number, so any documents that may still be needed could be uploaded online.
  5. Apparently the payment for the work permit form I-765 was never sent, and instead included only an I-912 request that lacked proof of homelessness-with just a personal claim of hardship because of finances and homelessness. Its been over a month and no confirmation or rejection notice from USCIS. Shouldn't a receipt notice have been received by now, allowing us to upload documents? Can a new i-765 with a new I-912 just be resubmitted, this time with proper proof? (now have the necessary snap papers) How about if it was re-submitted online and with the payment? Would it be better to wait for a notice from USCIS before trying to resubmit? thanks
  6. So for Cubans at least, apparently it doesn't matter how you entered the country.
  7. Apparently there are tons of loopholes that allow a green card, One is the Cuban Adjustment Act which allows a Cuban national with US relatives to apply for a green card after one year of being allowed into the US
  8. Is there any way to adjust status later on after being granted humanitarian parole? Or do people on humanitarian parole have to return after 2 years?
  9. At the moment she only has the temporary I-551 visa which is placed in the passport at the embassy interview. She recently received an appointment for biometrics which they need to issue the conditional 2 year plastic green card, which is mailed after the biometric appointment is completed. Just curious as to how long it takes to receive the new green card in the mail after the biometrics appointment.
  10. My friend who entered US after receiving her F2A visa at the embassy recently went to her biometrics appointment for the 'permanent' conditional green card. How long does it usually take to receive the card in the mail after biometrics? It seems they are processing it still with her old address, Is there any way to update it to the new address before the green card arrives?
  11. Its been over 3 weeks, no ss card in mail yet. Social security card had been requested on application
  12. Does not paying the immigrant fee right away affect the time it takes to issue a social security number? Will the SSN still be sent in mail following arrival in US?
  13. OK I found in their records, it says the AOS fee and immigrant visa fee ($325) have been paid. Is this the immigrant fee?
