  1. Do you guys out there know of *anyone* who received a K-1 visa after the Consulate discovered that the beneficiary had been arrested (but hadn't declared it)?

My fiance was arrested seven years ago, but had always assumed that he had merely been questioned by the police. It was a robbery case (not involving drugs), and the police questioned him and a bunch of other people at his work. He didn't declare it on the K-1 form because he honestly didn't believe he was arrested. I know, sounds fishy...but it's totally true.

The Consulate found out about it when checking his fingerprints. They asked for a copy of his police record (which is totally clean), a copy of the lawsuit regarding the robbery and a certificate from the judge who handled the case saying my fiance had nothing to do with it. 4 months after we turned that in...they want him to come in for an interview.

Is there any hope that they'll believe his story and let him come to the U.S.?? They clearly could have rejected him on the spot but didn't...but is that just wishful thinking on my part?

Any insight would be appreciated...I'm going crazy with worry!
