There are no State ID in NJ(
). There is only NJ DMV ID card and in order to get you need a primary document. It looks like this loophole does not exist in NJ.

Hello All,
What do you reccomend in the case, when:K-1 is expired on 01/01/06;
we do have NOA-1 about AOS;
we do have NOA-1 about EAD;
we do have 6 points;
we do have Marriage Certificate;
but our local NJ DMV has refused application for the driver's permit
, justifying their decision that we do not have legal status ( paper) in the country. It is kind of odd that my wife cannot drive until AOS is final in one year or so.

We have never seen EAD card before. Is there an Expiration Date on it?
If Yes, will NJ DMV consider EAD as a key provement of the legal status?
