  1. anyone else? again, when NVC asked for the proof if we are sibling for Affidavit of support, i gave to them the copy of my sister and my copy of 2001 Civil Registry version of our birth certificate. that is the only available BC we have here in U.S.. do you think the consul will ask for our NSO version of BC in the philippines? by the way, me and my sister are american citizen... thanks

  2. hi everyone. i have a question. when i did the AOS, i have a co-sponsor which is my older sister. NVC asked for proof of relationship (sibling) and i gave our only copy here which is the 2001 birth certificate civil registry version. do you think the consul will ask for the NSO copy in the interview? let me know and sorry for my english... thanks

  3. hi, i have a question... i filled out I-864 and my sister I-864A. NVC emailed me and asked for proof of relationship to the co-sponsor. we have both the birth certificate here but it is from 2001 and it is from local civil registry. i sent it anyway... do you think the consul will ask for the new and NSO birth certificate of both of us? thanks

  4. I had sent in my birth certificate in the initial I-129F phase, so if you did that, they will have all that paperwork at the US Embassy (it's all forwarded to them through the NVC).

So I didn't sent another copy of that, no. I don't think it's necessary.

Of course, it can't hurt. I think you had to send a copy of it when you sent the I-129F right?

hi, my status is CR1... so are they going to ask for it? thanks

  5. hi VJ members... i would like to know if in manila embassy, at the interview, they will ask for the petitioner's birth certificate. I know that i have to look here but they are old.. i would like someone who recently interviewed this year to share.. please... thanks

  6. hi, im sorry for the double post... my question is about i-864 (24b)... im currently living with my sister, siblings and parents... my sister did i-864 because i read that if the co-sponsor is the head of the family, that person should do the 864... my question is do i have to fill up 24b on my part? do i have to fill up part 8 (assets) also? thanks

  7. Are you currently living with your sister and her family? Or is it just you and your sister living in the same place?

If it's just you and sis then the 864A should be fine. If your sister has a family, then go with the 864 as the adjudicating officer will have a clearer picture of her household size.

hi, im living with my sister, her daughter, father, mother, my other 3 siblings and my other sister's son... i saw that my sister's dependents are our parent + her daughter... so i-864 not 864a?

  8. If she's not living there, she can't use that address for question number 10...

im not going to look for an apartment until she has the interview date, so meaning i have to fill up the DS-230 first. i think i will put my current address at #10 then i will notify the NVC if we move but, if i put my current address, it is the address that will reflect to her green card.. so is it ok? im confuse... pls help.. thanks

  9. yeah i will add her as co-sponsor but my question is that what form she going to fill up? i-864 or i-864a? because like i said, im currently living with my sister and once NVC assigned an interview date, i will look for apartment and we are going to separate... so what form? thanks

  10. hi, i have question about ds-230...

at part 1-#11, my situation is that i'm currently living with my family, once she got an interview date, i will start looking for apartment. my question is, is it ok if i put my current address for her green card but we are going to live in different address once she gets here? or is there an option to update the address of her green card once she comes here? thanks for your help
