Got my EAD in August and I've been looking for a job since. But I just got my first job as an Applications Systems Administrator and my first day will be November 7 2011 (just like above poster).

Sounds pretty similar to my experience, I had card production the same day and approval of the application the next day.

Regarding the lease. Talk to the landlord if he/she would add you and your wife to the lease. It would be really up to the landlord.

If that's all taken care of you can update your new address with USCIS. I don't really see a problem with this, especially with you guys helping to take care of your family and both you and your wife holding the same residence.

Ok then I don't understand why you need to file for AOS in 18 months, since you're already LPR.

For your LPR friend as joint sponsor I would suggest:

- Proof of identity

- Proof of legal status

- i-864 as joint sponsor

- tax returns of last 3 years

- current pay stubs

- last years W2s

I take it the sister and her husband share the same household. Therefor you need to file only one i-864 and supplement it with the i-864A... you will only have 1 joint sponsor.

Use option: "d. I am the only joint sponsor" for your sister-in-law

Your husband needs to file his own i-864 since he's the petitioner (doesn't matter how much he makes).

Use option: "a. I am the petitioner. I filed or am filing for the immigration of my relative" for you husband

What is your current status?

You will get an email/text notice. The step "RFE Response Review" is not visible at this time, but they will 'insert' it. Good luck on your AOS journey.

Your status of your AOS application will change to "RFE response review", that's how you know it's received and under review.

If no further evidence is needed the i-485 status won't change until the application is approved.

You will get a notice whether your EAD is approved, which means the status of your i-765 case will change.
