My family Cruise 2010 , My family usually takes a Royal Caribbean cruise every other year and in the past I could never make it, Until last year. I had time off and money to plan. I just wanted to have a great time with my friends and family. On our Second stop San Juan, Puerto Rico, my friends, my daughter and me took a tour bus around the city. At the end we were let off near a shopping area. I was the last to get off the bus, I walked onto the sidewalk when I looked up, I met eyes with a man who had the smoothest chocolate skin I had ever seen LOL. We said hello and I asked where are you from he replied "St. Vincent". I said OH really I'm coming to St. Vincent soon. He said WOW are you from there I said no Im coming to see a friend, which is YOU. He had the most suprised look on his face, He asked if he could join our group, I responded quickly, OF COURSE. The next day we were to stop in Labedee, Haiti and He asked me to meet him off the Island. I took a seat where the cruise line was bbq'n for the guest and waited about 30 minutes. I saw him walking up and became really nervous. We sat at a table and began to talk about life, religion, family, St. Vincent America... He then asked me to take a walk to see more of Labadee (which is beautiful) the day ended with him having to return to the ship for work. We met later that night in the pool area where he worked we talked and laughed for a while, he even told me he could see himself marrying me! The feeling was like we knew each other our lifetime. My cruise was ending, but we agreed to keep in contact since his ship departed from Miami every Sunday it wouldn't be difficult by phone or email. I didn't want to leave him but I had to return to my routine :( we talked everyday from that day forward but I wanted to see him again. So about a month and a half after my cruise we made plans for me to fly to Miami on a Saturday to meet the ship on its Sunday arrival, I did just that, He came off the ship and we met at my hotel. We hugged, kissed, smiled, gazed, and other things for the entire day. He had to return at 5pm and I had a flight to catch a little after that, it was hard for us both to leave one another. So we planned our next meeting which was me traveling to St. Vincent to meet him for his vacation with work. I arrived in St. V on October 3rd, He was due there October 4th. So I was being picked up at the airport after a 12 hour day of flying and layovers to meet his mom someone that I have never seen and talked to once or twice.. so my nerves were out of control. I collected by bags, after going through customs I saw a lady who's skin and features were similar to my man who had the biggest welcoming smile on her face waiting there for me. I walked out and she greeted me with open arms. On our way to her house she showed me the countryside and different villages. She cooked dinner for me once we were there and asked me questions about life and my family. The next day was his arrival, I rode with one of his friends who would be picking him up from the airport. I stood in the same place his mom had stood waiting for me the day before. He came out the doors and didnt notice me. I gave him a shy HI and he immediately came over to kiss me. We spend the next days locked up in the bedroom, holding one another and catching up. In the middle of my visit one night we were drinking wine and really feeling. He kept pacing the floor which worried me, he left the room and came back with different questions about life, love, marriage and the future I turned around to place my glass on the table when I came back around he was on one knee with a ring box in hand, tears in his eyes. He asked me to marry him, I was so shocked and happy to see him in the most vulnerable place ever. I said yes and began to kiss him, on October 4th I received a sapphire and diamond ring that loves 1000% better than the Diana/Kate ring. It was the best day Ive had with him. He returned to the states with me for a month meeting my family and friends. He returned to Royal Caribbean for work on 12/13/10. He returned to me on 8/24/11 for a shorter vacation and left on MONDAY 9/12/11. We sacrifice a
lot to be together but he is worth every minute &every dime... We plan to marry Next year, and I plan to tell this story to the World... Hamlett, Alicia & all of our children will live Happily and Blessed ever After AMEN!
