My case close Aug 20. Can you update your timeline? Nothing is listed after your NOA1. When did your case close?
-
It's Tuesday....is anybody else twitchy??? I'm really hoping for good news this week!
-
Also, if you aren't in Saudi Arabia, you cannot get a police certificate. My husband lived there for a few years and they will not give you one. You're safe regardless! Good luck!
-
It only took about a week for my invoice from the time I got my case number. It will go quickly now. Don't get too frustrated. Just smile because you're almost there!
-
My husband and I are in the same situation. I am USC and he s German and we live in the British Virgin Islands. Aside from the FedEx charges it was easy. Just follow the steps on VJ and ask questions. We are all done except our interview.
Good luck!

Saylin, Should I worry if I was told case complete but didn't get this email??
-
when I got an error I was invoiced the next day. try again Monday!

We used the value of our home as an asset and investments. We showed the value through a recent appraisal and that it was not mortgaged as well as investment statements for the last 6 months showing that the account has history. I think if you want to show cash in the bank as an asset then you would need to show history of it being there so perhaps several months of statements showing a steady balance would suffice.
I'm sure that others will have more input.
Good luck!

Case complete! Thanks to all on VJ! Waiting now for our interview. There are so few people here from our embassy it's really hard to tell how long we should expect to wait. I hate calling every day expecting to get nothing. But I need to know as soon as possible since our embassy is in another country and requires expensive travel.....any words of wisdom??

Case completed...waiting for interview. fingers crossed!

Hi everyone!
Quick question on order of operations. When does the case get sent to the embassy? Is it after the interview is assigned or before? Our IV package was accepted and I'm not sure what the next question I need answered from NVC is. I'm so used to calling I don't want to stop now!
Can you help?

Here is the cover letter I sent with our package. I found it on VJ and tweaked it a bit. Maybe it can help you. I understand that the originals will be returned at the interview.

My husband and I visited the US several times during the process, even during NVC. We had all of our documents ready to prove ties to home but were never asked for anything. Go for it!

I know this isn't going to be a popular point of view but I'm not sure if you can appeal. The I-864 that you signed says that you are liable if your wife goes on public aid. I think this is the sort of thing that the government is protected against. I'm sure that someone with more experience can offer better info and perhaps some options.
Good luck!

The end is in sight! I'm so excited that we've made it this far! Couldn't have done it without VJ! We're still surprised by the speed that we are getting through NVC. AOS package was delivered today and the IV bill was paid today. The IV package is ready to go once it shows paid- hopefully tomorrow. I'm hoping we can make the cut-off for interview scheduling this month. Have we missed it yet??
-
Hi all,
I have a question: one of the requirements for the IV package according to LingChe says: "police certificate is required for any place in their country of citizenship; the beneficiary has lived longer than six (6) months, after the age of 16."
I have my police certificate from Germany but there is only one certificate, there are no certificates for specific cities/ places. Since I lived in several cities in Germany since I was 16 I am worried that they want to see more certificates.
Any experiences with that?

When I called someone was actually in the process of entering our case. I was able to get a case number but they couldn't take our emails until the case done being enters. I called back a few hours lasted and it was all set. Keep calling!
-
We used the email template and our was approved on Friday, 5 business days. Waiting for the bill so we can move on to the next step!

Hi all,
We are filling out the DS-230 right now. Under question 35 I have to list dates of all my previous visits to the United States.
1. I only have my current passport, the older ones I don't ave anymore, so I can only estimate when I went and from when to when.
2. Does this include all transits?
3. What is this used for?
Please let me know if anyone has previous experience with this.
Thank you!

we emailed our ds3032 on the sam day we got our case number and we got the email of acceptance 5 business days later.
good luck!

Thanks for the info. I'm stil not sure if I can sponsor my husband on assets alone. Im currently overseas with him so my income will end when we move.
Without a continuous source of income, can I sponsor him alone?
Please help!

My husband and I just got back to our hotel in Barbados after hearing the man behind the glass casually tell us that my husband's green card had been approved! Like it was nothing! We are so excited, already going online looking for flights to the US. I'll write a review of Barbados consulate soon and out intended POE is San Juan, Pr. we will review that as well.
After all these months and forms and calls and waits....it's just done. Amazing!
Thanks to all on VJ who helped! I read more than I contributed but I don't think we could have done it without all of you! Thank you!!!
