1. Hi Everyone-We filed I-751 for removal of conditions on March 30, 2015 and have still not received notice for the biometrics appt. I had seen other posts that sometimes they use the biometrics info from the AOS so was not too worried but called USCIS to be safe. The response back was the following:

Thank you for your inquiry regarding an appointment to have your biometric images processed at an Application Support Center (ASC). We are unfortunately experiencing a longer processing period than what is reflected on your Form I-751 Receipt Notice for this process. Please know that your name has been electronically added to the appointment scheduler. You will receive an ASC appointment notice by mail once an appointment date has been established for you.

If you move, please provide us with an updated address. For more information about address changes, please visit our Web site at
www.uscis.gov/ar11, and click on Change Your Address Online.

For More Information: If you do not find the information you need through our online services and need further assistance, you may contact our National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283, or 1-800-767-1833 (TDD for the hearing impaired). If you have any further questions, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283

Anyone else experiencing delays in their biometrics appointment?

2. Just posted a review for our interview on 3/23.

Can't stress enough to take time to practice the interview multiple times to build her confidence and comfort with the documents she will be presenting!! I also organized info from most recent to the beginning of relationship to help ensure questions they asked focused on recent events vs a year ago( which worked as they never looked past the first few pages of the hundred we submitted).

3. Hi All-When I last visited my fiancee in January we completed all the packet 3 paperwork with her signature on the forms to be ready to sent to the embassy when we received packet 3. Have received NOA 2 and embassy has electronic file and they are waiting on getting the physical files in the mail. So ready to send in but.....my fiancee started a new unpaid apprenticeship this week.

So the question is... do I need to redo the ds230 to reflect this new unpaid job? Since she signed the forms in January can she simply explain if asked that she started this new job after she signed the paperwork (although it is before the NOA2 and Packet 3 date). Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks!

4. Hi all-need some advice. Bkk embassy has NBC file per email below. They say they are waiting on physical but later in email say it can be submitted at interview. So confused, does the physical have to be sent to embassy before or with all the packet 3 info? Here is the email, which seems

The Immigrant Visa Unit of the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok has received the electronic file of the above captioned case but are waiting for the physical which will be sent to the IV Unit by mail. After both files are received, we will mail the Packet 3 instructional letter to notify the applicant by mail.

The Packet 3 checklist and forms for K applicants can be downloaded ahead of time from the link below:

K visa applicants:

http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/root/pdfs/k_instructions_package_may09.pdf

In order to schedule an interview appointment, the IV Unit has to receive these following documents from the applicant through the mail.

DS-230 Part I

Signed checklist

2 frontal photographs

a photocopy of the applicant’s passport photo page and photocopies of all required application documents listed in the Packet 3 checklist.

This is to make sure that the applicant will have all application documents on the interview day. Please do not mail any original official documents, such as the original birth certificate, original passport, original fee receipt to the IV Unit since the documents can get lost in the mail. For medical examination result, the applicant can submit the documents in person on the interview day. Normally, after the IV Unit received the complete returned Packet 3 documents from the applicant, the interview appointment can be scheduled for the applicant in 8-10 weeks later. By that time, we will notify the applicant by mail.

This is our mailing address.

Consular Section

Immigrant Visa Unit

95 Wireless Road

Bangkok

Regards,

So, anyone can make sense if I have to send physical to embassy or bring to interview? the packet 3 instructions call for the original police report, not a copy per the email.

Thanks

Ken

Kflyco, have you done the medical and police report yet? You will have to go to Bangkok for the police report so if you are there may as well find the closet post office. Or you can try the phone number or email listed on Thailand's post office website. Good luck. http://www.thailandp...=45&service=174

Edit: You can pay the fee at any post office in Bangkok.

Thanks everyone! Ended up having a friend in Bangkok area pay the fee. Key lesson learned is not all post offices have the pay@post service, especially those in rual areas. Packet 3 says it can be paid at ANY post, but apparently only true for those in urban areas.

6. 1328731965' post='5147026']

There are 250 'pay at post' post offices nationwide. Hopefully there is one close to her. We just paid and it was $350 USD as others have mentioned.

Thanks every one for your replays. Any idea on how to find a list of the 250 Thai posts that you can pay thevfeevat? She will have to obviously get to a bigger city to do this.

7. 1328289809' post='5137641']

Yes, we just paid visa fee at Post Office too. $350.

Hospital 3,665 Baht for everything.

Police clearance supposed to be free. However extorted 3,000 Baht from fiance. Started at 5,000 Baht and negotiated down to 3k.

My fiancé tried to pay at her local post office and they knew nothing about it...do only certain post offices do this?

8. Hi everyone- need some help with what fee need to be submitted with packet 3 in Thailand. Packet 3 instructions say $131 needs to be payed and reciept submitted, but packet 4 says $100. Additionally it says it should be payed at the Thai post. My fiancée went to the post at her town in rual ubon, and did not know anything about it, and should pay at embassy or go to a post in larger city, ubon ratchathani. Anyone have advice on $$ amount and where should be paid and when have to submit receipt...packet 3 or 4( at embassy). Much appreciated!?

I did exactly what you are asking about and glad I did. I followed with up the doctor to see if I had to come in again and she said no. Had the original exam in August and my interview is in a few days. Well let you know if there were any issues pertaining to the exam date.

Thanks! Good luck on interview!

10. Hi Everyone-I am wondering if i might of got ahead of the process here....I arranged to have my fiance conduct her medical exam in Bangkok prior to receiving her NOA 2 approval. I have since received the NOA2 but not received packet 3. Any thoughts on whether conducting the medical this far out will be a problem. Just read on Dept of State website medical should not be done before the consulate recieves the application...but did not see it on the BKK packet 3 info....Medical is still in a sealed envelope.

Interview will be about 5 months after the medical. Am wondering if I will need to redo the physical?

Thanks

Has anyone used Bumrungrad Hospital recently and know the cost of the medical for package 3? I have some info from the Embassy but I think it's old/not accurate. My fiancé is familiar with that hospital so she will probably go there. I'd like to make it as easy as possible for her. She did get some of the vaccines in advance in her home town. If you went to another hospital which one and what was the price there?

Thanks

Went In jan 2012 and was 5000 baht for dr and vaccines....2000 for dr and 3000 for vaccines.

12. Hi all-found this application that downloads your iPhone SMS/mms messages onto your pc. I downloaded 5 months of sent/ recieved messages and pictures in about 5 min. It saves as HTML but I copied into word, where u can edit if u want. The only problem was the doc was 326 pages and 42mb! Gotta pay $25 but can demo, u just can't save to your pc. I am sure some techies can do for free but worked for me.

13. Hi Everyone! Has anyone had experience about on the type of divorce records that should be submitted with your I129F?

The state my divorce was in(Colorado) uses Vitalcheck, a thirdparty company, to provide verification/certification(with raised seal) of the divorce and submitted originals with my 129F. I was wondering if this suffices or would actually need copies of the divorce decree, much more difficlut to obtain. But since I now I have time....lots of it...was wondering if I should go ahead and get the actual decrees in case I receive an RFE. Would appreciate any insight you may have!

Thanks

Ken

Can the foreign fiance(e) come to the U.S. for a visit during the K-1 Fiance(e) Visa process?

Yes, the foreign fiance(e) can visit but there are no guarantees that he/she will gain entry.

It is not illegal for the foreign fiance(e) to enter the United States during the K-1 process. However, the burden of proof is on the visitor to show that they do not intend to remain illegally. Tourist visitors to the U.S. are expected to have sufficient funds to support themselves while in the U.S. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) presumes that every alien entering the United States is an intended immigrant, unless proven otherwise. Therefore, it is vital that the visitor bring along valid proof-of-ties to their home country.

What kind of documents should the visitor bring to show intent to return to their home country?

Recommended documents to show intent to return to home country include (but are not limited to):

Return ticket.

Copy of lease/rental agreement or mortgage payments for housing.

Letter of employment indicating expected date of return.

Copy of class schedule or other pertinent documents if in school.

If arriving on an extended stay, copy of bank statement showing sufficient funds to support yourself.

If you do not appear to have the means to support yourself while in the U.S. a letter from whomever you will be staying with stating that they will be financially responsible for you during your stay.

If you are leaving a child behind in the care of someone, a letter from them stating when you are expected to return.

Copy of the K-1 application and any NOA(s) received.

How should the visitor respond to questions at the Port of Entry (POE)?

At the Port of Entry (POE), the visitor will be asked some basic questions. Here are some recommendations when responding to the officer:

Answer each question directly and honestly.

Provide answers only to the questions which are asked. Do not offer additional information unless requested to do so by the officer.

Answer yes/no questions with only a "yes" or a "no". Do not provide additional information unless asked.

Additional Information:

Your foreign fiance(e) should bring only the amount of clothing they will require for the length of the visit. If they are coming for a two week visit but are bringing enough items to cover a six month visit, they will give the appearance that they do not intend to return to their home country and risk being turned back.

If your foreign fiance(e) is refused entry to the United States, it will be up to them to cover the cost of the return airfare. For this reason, you should look into having them fly out of an airport where the U.S. POE is stationed within that airport. Pre-clearance locations are limited. Here is a list of airports where pre-clearance is available.

Thanks Everyone. I assume, with my fiance in Thailand, that the proof mentioned above will need to be submitted to the embassy during the visa approval process, not the POE. Anyone have experience with the Bangkok emabassy and getting the tourist visa approved with an active K-1 visa application in the works?

15. Hi everyone-At 30 day mark from my NOA1 and after some discussion with friends in Thailand everyone seems to think it would be easy to have my fiance apply for a tourist visa and visit me in the USA while we wait on the K-1. Any feedback on:

1. What is the likelihood it would be approved.

2. What do they look for when approving a tourist visa?

2. Does it in any way jeopardize the K-1 Approval?

Thanks in advance!
