    Hi Gatorfan,

    First of all Congratulations!!! on your wife's approval. Most of the folks here on VJ also got their approval in the same way like your wife did. I have seen USCIS send the NOA and approval with first name initial and last name, while the biometric and acutual GC comes with the correct name.

    Hopefully the 10 Yr will have correct name. If not don't worry apply I-90 which will be free of charge for your case as it's fault on USCIS's part.

    My wife got her letter in e-mail like stating her application was approved and card production ordered.

    However, on the letter, it does not list my wife's first name, it only has the first letter. For those who got their letters, were your names completely spelled out. I am worried that her green card may be printed the same way. She has never received any documentation with just the first letter of her first name.

    Yesterday my wife arrived back from India and her POE was Orlando, Florida. She is still waiting for 10 year card, so she had her expired green card with the extension letter.

    When she got to Immigration, the Officer detained her and put her in a room. The Officer said she couldn't enter, because system was showing that she did not have her biometrics done; therefore, she was out of status.

    However, fortunately, when my wife left for India, I also told her to take the biometrics appointment letter which had the stamp showing that she completed her biometrics last October. She gave the Officer the appointment letter and said she did complete her biometrics last fall.

    After keeping in the room for over two hours, he returned and said she was free to enter. He did not give her any explanation as to if the problem was corrected. My wife was so happy at that point, she didn't want to press her luck by asking him why he had to detain her for so long.

    So my tip to those of you planning on traveling outside the country is to take the biometrics appointment letter along with your extension letter.

    same here, we were transferred 03/10 touched 03/11 and 03/16. there is a few members is this forum who experienced the same thing.

    BTW did you get the transfer notice on the mail? we didn't get ours yet.

    We're in the same boat! I've seen some people got approved one month after they got transfered to CSC. Hope we got approved soon! :thumbs::thumbs:

    We're still waiting for the transfer notice in the mail :( .

    My wife got an e-mail on March 4, 2009 saying the case was transferred from the VSC to CSC. She just got the letter on Friday, March 27, 2009. The letter was dated March 18, 2009.

    So I wouldn't worry too much about not getting the letter yet.

    Mailing Address vs. Address

    Getting ready to send out the I-751.

    I've searched this topic and I know about cases where people use a P.O. Box or something like that in the mailing address vs. address section.

    However, my question is:

    If we currently rent and are expected to move within the next few months, can I put my parents' address as the "Mailing Address" to be sure the new card gets there ok?

    Reason being last time we moved and had our mail forwarded it took months to get our mail and a lot got lost. I just don't trust the snail mail system and I'd feel more comfortable having it send to a "stable" address.

    Any thoughts?

    I did the same thing. In fact I use my parents address in all of the fields. On the Part Three Question 9 of the I-751, I marked yes and included an attachment of the places where my wife and I have stayed.

    Also, in my case, my wife and my driver's license address and all of our bills still go to my parent's address. Reason I do this is so my wife doesn't have to let the USCIS know every time we move.

    Texas Service Center- Forwarding of I-751

    Like a lot of people in this forum, I haven't posted here in awhile. :innocent:

    Last week I mailed my wife's I-751 package to the Texas Service Center. When I checked the tracking it said the package was forwarded, but did not give any other information.

    Are they forwarding all the I-751 mail to the Vermont Service Center now? I know it is too early to worry, but hopefully my package wasn't forwarded to the USCIS black hole.

    I've had it for over a year now. My only complaint is for the very poplular new releases. Sometimes I have ended up waiting 3 weeks for them to finally arrive.
