If you've done the Biometrics already, then nothing else but wait until you either get an update for "In-line to be scheduled for interview" or a physical interview letter and an online update of "scheduled for interview".
The wait sucks, but I'm guessing background checks can take a while; it's the longest part of the entire process for the most part.
That's what I thought. So you're still waiting too? Frustrating to hear some have already taken the oath when we are not even in line yet.

When I check my case status it still says "On April 23, 2015, we received your Form N-400." At what point does it change to something else?

Andy, here's what we did...after debating about it--we put her full legal name in Thai.
If my wife has legally taken my surname then her new last name will eventually be listed on her new passport, etc., which of course has the name in English letters and in Thai letters. So then we had to figure out how to spell her new last name in Thai. We disagreed on how she should spell it. I said it would sound funny if people pronounced it as she wanted to spell it. But she insisted. I figured she knew what looked right even if, in my mind, there was another vowel that would make it closer to the true pronunciation.

It's pretty amazing all of the languages the test is available in in California (written and audio):
Besides English, the basic Class C written driver license exam is also available in the following languages:
Amharic, Arabic, Armenian, Cambodian, Chinese, Croatian, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hmong, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Laotian, Persian/Farsi, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Samoan, Spanish, Tagalog/Filipino, Thai, Tongan, Turkish, and Vietnamese.
Besides English, the basic Class C audio driver license exam is also available in the following languages:
Armenian, Chinese/Mandarin, Hindi, Hmong, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Punjabi, Russian, Spanish, and Vietnamese
Now if only the driver license handbook was in Thai (it's in 9 languages: English, Armenian, Chinese, Korean, Punjabi, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog and Vietnamese)!

The Nolo legal guidebook Fiance & Marriage Visas has a little tip at the beginning of the chapter on K-1 visas. It says,
Wedding ceremonies that don't result in legally binding marriages won't stand in your way. If you don't feel right leaving home unmarried, see if you can arrange for a religious or other ceremony that won't be recorded or recognized by your country's civil authorities. USCIS does not recognize these as valid marriages. You will need to have a legal marriage in the United States once you get there.In fact, that's what my wife and I did, in part thanks to that bit of advice. Of course the subject never came up at the K-1 interview which, because of fortuitous timing, ended up being the week before our scheduled religious service. It never occurred to me that it could be a problem. It seemed like it was the best option for us to have the wedding for her family and friends and have a civil ceremony with a later reception upon arrival in the U.S. since we probably wouldn't be returning to her country until many months later. Then why not do a CR-1 at that time as some will ask? Well, that would have meant not starting the immigration process until after the wedding which was nearly a year after we got engaged because of her work commitments.
Wait a minute--how come your profile says you are pursuing a CR-1/IR-1 visa now? Let's just say...that's a long story...but we are praying and preparing for our IR-1 interview on October 12.

Just got our interview appointment e-mail and it says that my wife's preference category is CR-1. Our two-year anniversary fell between the time of NOA2 and Case Completed. Is the category locked in at status as of NOA2 date? Will it be automatically upgraded to IR-1 when she gets her visa after October interview or will she have to request it?

We got our interview e-mail yesterday for interview date October 12, exactly 2 months after case complete!

Got my wife's interview date today--October 12--so my completion date was 3 days after Virginian but my interview date is two weeks after. Oh well, now we know and it's nice having a date to plan towards.

Virginian61--looks like we have similar timelines. Just sent in our DS-230 on Monday. Was hoping for a September interview but it's looking more and more like it will be October now thanks to our wait for police certificate after everything else was ready.

My wife filled out her DS-230 Page 2 of 4 by hand since she didn't have a printer and I filled out the other 3 pages on the computer and printed them out. Now I notice when I received wife's page in the mail that she left the slots blank for "Languages spoken or read" and "In what occupation do you intend to work in the United States?"
If I submit with no answers to those questions will I get an RFE?
If I write in the answers for her will there be a problem with that?

I married my Thai wife in America and we're currently working on our IR-1/CR-1 paperwork at the NVC. She is now in Thailand. She changed her last name in the U.S. when we got married but she hasn't changed any of her Thai ID yet. Since her passport is about to expire early next year we thought she should take care of changing her name for that and her national ID card, etc.
I thought it would be fairly simple but she ended up going to an immigration company outside the Chiang Mai consulate (I wasn't available to discuss it with her that day) and they are saying her marriage license needs to be translated for 300B. That sounds fair. But in addition they say she needs to go to the U.S. consulate and get some paperwork from there and will have to pay the consulate 2000B and probably 2000B to the company too (total over $130). It's driving me crazy because I don't know what's going on. I have a hard time believing this is all necessary. Can anyone tell me what normally needs to be done for a Thai citizen to change their name? Even though she has an original marriage license from California with her I think they also may be trying to get something stamped or notarized unnecessarily. They're taking her on Tuesday.
