We are. One way tickets for the same routes cost almost three times as much as a round trip. I'll call the airline a few days before the return date and tell them we can't make it.
I'm trying to imagine what it must feel like for you after this horrendously long process and the hell you guys must have been through. Thank you for all your help and support. Have a safe trip and ... see you on the other side
Thank you yes.. it is totally surreal... I have said my goodbyes and now sitting in the departure lounge due to leave in about 45 mins on the 29 hour journey.. I'm having trouble believing it.
Thank you for your support also. Its a tough process and we deserve happiness... You'll be there soon also

Yes, interview on Monday
How long does your embassy take, on average, to issue the visa after approval?
They told me just a few days.. today was a week since my interview so I was getting a little concerned and I called them. It was sent by courier on Monday and today is Thursday here.. they checked the status with the courier and said it was out for delivery.... it arrived within the hour.
I have booked flights and leave tomorrow afternoon.. it will take around 29 hours including layover time and I will be home... at last.

This is one that I've been waiting for! I wish j wasn't on my phone because I can't use the emoji's so just imagine lots of happy bouncy things.
YOU'RE GOING HOME!!!!! xxx
Yes! finally ! thank you ... wow.. I still can't get used to this !! It has been such a wait but we are starting to make plans for the summer and that part is waking me up to the new reality. I called the consulate about something else and they noticed there was a cancellation for the following day .. I was asked if I could be there 10 am the next morning. If I'd had to walk all night I would have done it. Just waiting for my passport now and trying to adjust to the new status.
You aren't far off and you'll be on your way...

Congratulations! So happy for you guys.
Thank you... I hope you aren't left waiting too long and you are able to get on with your lives soon.

Well Looky and everyone who is still following ..... we have finally made it !!!! WOOHOOOOOOOOO
The interview was very simple and lasted about 5 minutes and I was approved !!!!
Right now I am waiting for my passport back which is due within a day or 2. Plans are underway... bags are already packed ... and we will be together very soon.
I have to admit I went underground for a few days there.. everything was a bit overwhelming and I am still feeling a bit 'flattened' by the whole process, but we are making plans for summer days and the future that is ahead of us and I will be on that plane as soon as I have my passport in hand.
All the best to everyone out there and hope you are happy in your lives... thank you for all the support in the past and especially to Looky for checking in on me every so often. Its funny the things that cheer you up when you feel left out in the cold and those positive words made a real difference.

I just had to disappear for a while... it was all getting a bit much for me after the confusion with previous petitions and this seemingly never ending wait but I am happy to say that I have had my interview and was approved. I feel exhausted from it all but so excited that we can finally be together.
Thank you all for your support and goodwill ... congratulations to everyone for your endurance through this process and I hope that if you are not already with your 'other half' that you will be very very soon.

Yes, I will wait for the consulates response, depending on what they say I may call USCIS, then I will call my cousin, she is an immigration attorney in New York.
So sorry to hear you are going through this also. As if the journey isn't arduous enough. I hope it is resolved quickly and you don't need to go down this path also. Watching to see some better news for you..

Sounds to me like you have been very detailed and specific in general.. I would be very surprised if they even notice.
