  1. Aw I hate that everyone gets response of their Senator and Congressman and all that, and I just sit here and wait.

I think it is Time for the Ombudsman.

Hope this makes you feel better, but we have done everything....Senators, US Rep, service request (denied expidite request). And we were just told MOnday to wait 30 more days. This was more than 2 weeks since we got our service request. And we go our NOA1 in September. I can't begin to explain our level of frustration. THIS IS ONLY THE FIRST PART OF THIS DAMN EXERCISE!!!!

  2. Hey Cinco, I'm sorry for this long wait you both are experiencing. I'm not understanding the 11 day call back thing at all. Wish you both good luck and hope to hear good news from you soon!

    Mari

    Mari,

I wish I knew what 11 days meant. I am even more curious because when I pressed here about "11 days" that is when she hung up on me. Congrats with your progress though. It is good to see someone from Turkey has had success with this process! My fiancee has dealt with the interview process before....we are not worried about this. What worries us is we will be at 200 days this Friday since we received our NOA1.

BTW....we are at the Vermont Service Center...I saw someone asked.

  3. If you think its though now, wait until you have to flight to the interview at the US Consulate, this is the most stressful day you will ever experienced. USCIS is just a little dose of stress. The bad guys are in the US Consulate in Turkey. I would highly recommend you to load yourself with evidence in the meantime.

Your case is beyond processing time so you should be persistence until approved.

This is my fiancee's 3 visa interview at the Turkish Consulate (she had a J-1 and a travel visa). So this is old hat for her. We have ample documentation. I am not worried at all about our interview. I have no doubt we will get the visa....its just the waiting. Then we have to deal with "those people" on the other end of the USCIS phone number. The punishment of the combination of the 2 is cruel...just not unusual :-/

  4. Try calling your local Senator(especially one who needs reelected), and ask them to look up your case #, and see what the problem is.

I did just that. I emailed both my Senators and my US Rep. (he was hard to find...lots of them in TX). I have not received a responce yet. I am just so frustrated. I wish I could at least get common or uniform answers. Everyone I speak with tells me something new or different or they say thing contradictory to what the last person just told me. My life is being held hostage by this people. I mean, this is a profound moment in our lives...we are in love and getting married. But the USCIS is making this to be the worst time of my life....no hyperbole!

I really don't think they know the effect they have on our lives.

  5. I called USCIS today and got hung up on twice. The first one I think may have been a mistake...he was in mid-sentance. But the 2nd time the lady said, "I can't discuss this futher"...click. #######!!!!

She did tell me that the on-line tracking tool for the USCIS is broken. It has not worked or been updated for months. That makes since because my last "touch" was October 3rd.

I called today (and will call everyday until we get our NOA2) and my tier 2 person sucked. Last week I requested and got a service request. Well the lady today said that person whom created the service request for us did so prematurely. That we were still in the normal processing times. I asked what that time frame was and got the standard 5 months. I explained that 5 months has long passed (we filed 9/23/10). She just said that service request is in but that no one will pay attention to it. Again....#######....what is it for then damn it?! I was told to call back in 11 days. Again..again...#######?! I asked why 11 days? That is an odd number and that would be a Saturday. So she just said, "Oh...I guess it is...then call the newt business day." This is proof she just pulled that number out of the air. I asked why 11....what happens in 11 days. That's when I got the hang up. I mean....this IS MY LIFE. Not just some file on her desk. They won't tell me anything...no good news no bad news nothing....just wait more. We are almost at 7 months...how long does it take?

BTW....do not mention the speed of the California Service Center. That just pissed her off more. But facts are facts lady and ya'll aren't cutting the mustard! Think the VSC is hiring? I want a job that I can treat people like garbage, get all holidays off, and not perform my work in the time designated.

  6. Might not see many approvals today. Was a huge snow storm in the North East last night, this morning. All counties but 2 southern ones in Vermont were closed for State employees, so govt was probably off too.

Man! good call Blob18. I saw that on the news this morning but I did not put 2 & 2 together. Just one more hurdle in a long race. Can't do anything but laugh and let it go.

  7. We received our NOA1 on Sept. 23rd. We have only been "touched" once on Oct. 3rd. I called last week....a week after the 5 months....and I was told to wait another 33 days before a service request could be issued. Was I told wrong? The we got when I called was very nice and told us nothing was odd or flagged on our account. Do you all think we will hear something soon? Should I demand a service request?

  8. We received our NOA1 on Sept. 23, 2010. It has only been "touched" once and that date was Oct. 3, 2010. I called last week to ask about our progress since we have waited through the 5 month target processing time. I was told to wait 33 more days if we had not heard anything. This means I need to call back on April 4th. I was told they are still processing the end of August filers. I hope it moves along quickly and we hear something before the 33 days. I just missed my financee's birthday because of this delay :-(

  9. The lockbox location forwards your petition to either California or Vermont.

If your case # starts with WAC, you're at California.

If your case # starts with EAC, you're at Vermont.

Ok....That is very helpful information. I was going to be upset but the average processing time for Vermont is still 5 months (it begins EAC). Should I post this letter to Vermont then or just sent it to the Texas lockbox to be forwarded to Vermont?

  10. Last week we passed the 5 month wait time for our K1 visa. We sent our packet to the Texas Service Center (avg. wait is 5 months). We still haven't heard anything from them. I have read on this site that a follow up letter is a good idea once the wait time is expired. Where do I send this letter? To the Texas Service Center or is there a different (or better) place to send the letter? Any and all help is most welcome. I am tired of waiting for my Fiancee and I am ready to start our life together.
