Wow! That's great news! That was less than 9months of waiting! I hope the embassy continues to work like this! Meanwhile, woohoooooo!

Sarah & Adnan, I'm sorry about what you are going through and I'm not here to tell you what you should and shouldn't do. I'm just giving my own personally opinion. However, I do stand high against my opinion regarding the embassy approving CR-1's & IR-1's more over K1 visas. They just don't understand the fiancé relationship & wanting to get married in America. Why? Who knows. The embassy of Sanaa needs major help with everything that's going on in there. But who knows, you might be lucky and everything goes well. Again I'm just speaking from what I've seen & heard with fellow family and friends. I don't want to doubt anyone on their journey and deep down I wouldn't even wish AP on my worst enemy.
Neferure, that's an old post when the embassy was closed the beginning of 2011. They never removed it. Meaning they were talking about April 2011 appts that were canceled & were calling people back to reschedule. That doesn't have anything to do with 2013.

h&a&n are u still on the process or are u all done .. how long did it take to get ur husbands visa and does he have it already ..
We also had a long journey, we started April 2009 with I-130 & filed the K3 a few months later, thinking it would be quicker, April 2010 interview went well but put in AP, then nothing after that. Made lots of senator inquries. Basically once you are in AP, there's no one that can help until it is over. Three years in AP, I had enough! So i continued the IR-1, gave him an appt in Feb 2013, ended with AP, gave him a call in May to come in June & turn in passport. I don't know why, but I've noticed that the embassy of Sanaa doesnt like to deal with K3's & K1's. Even though the K3 is no longer relevant. I just wish I can go back in time and just continued the IR-1 a long time ago. For those that are considering K1's, my opinion is to just get married and apply for the CR-1.
Anywho, we are waiting on June 15th!!

My Visajourny thanks for postin the website ceac.state.gov
but when I fill my case number ut says:
Please follow the instructions you received from the National Visa Center (NVC) for the next step in the processing of your visa petition. If you have misplaced the instructions sent to you by the NVC or did not receive them, please contact us at http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3177.html for additional information.
any one knows what does that mean ??
my case already completed why dont they say waiting for interview schedualing??
I wouldn't worry too much about why hasnt the status changed. Your case IS complete and you will be notified when the embassy has a slot for you for an appointment. Just because it doesnt show in the case status page, it doesn't mean your case is not complete. Just keep in mind that there's still a long waiting time.

Well in my case they took my husbands passport and when I email the embassy they say this :
Thank you for your email. We will contact your husband as soon as his visa is ready to be picked up.
Best,
Sanaa IV Unit
And when I call dos hotline they say he is on AP... So I really don't know. But yeah I have been wating 5 years and my son has never meet his father!!! They just kept hitting us with missing documents and rejecting sponsors and finally file is complete and they have his passport but no visa still!!! So I'm just praying he will get that call to go and pick up his visa!!! Inshallah soon!!!!
Yes, thats where I come in and say I went through the exact same thing with our K3 process. Except, it resulted with AP, they called himback in three months to bring in passport and then NOTHING! We made inquires so they gave us the passport back with nothing, then three years after, I couldnt take it any more and continued the IR-1 for him. But alhamdilah things have changed in the passed years. Maybe they needed to put your husband in what they call mandatory AP like the rest and then they will give you that amazing call to pick up visa. Inshallah!!
-
Yes I have. & you are right, its going to be tough. The next 3months are going to go by sooooo slow. You just have to hang in there.
-
The women with approved interviews, they keep their passports because they will not undergo AP. Meaning, they will stamp their visas and were told to come back to pick them up.

i have a question to any one here who may now about this. do u guys think that since my case is in ap now and the officer didnt take our passport he will be denied because they should have taken the passport so then they could just stamp the visa im gettin worried about this.
They don't take your passport if you are placed on AP, after AP is finished, they call you to bring in the passport. Why would you be denied if they verbally told you everything in your folder is fine? I wouldn't worry if I were you.

If it makes any of you ladies feel a little better, I personally know three friends who have filed for theyre husbands and they went through the exact thing I stated in my previous post THIS year. My husband is currently waiting to bring in his passport in June after being in AP with the IR-1 for 3months now. (We started with K3 in 2009 has been in AP since 2010, so i continued the IR-1 and noticed things moved faster for us. Yes! we were in AP for more then THREE YEARS!)

That is the ultimate routine for a male now. Has the interview, all documents are found, gets placed on AP for about 3-4months, gets call to bring in his passport, gets a receipt saying come back in two weeks with visa stamped in passport. If you ask me, thats not bad at all compared to what they were doing before.

We all hope so too but I highly recommend that you think about it very carefully. They actually get excited to have a reason to reject someone. What makes me mad is still rejecting someone and placing them on AP even after ALL documentation is found and update. But I do wish you the best of luck. I'm just happy this embassy is slowly but surely moving along finally.

Interviews go smoothly for women, its the men they are usually harder on. No matter how much evidence you bring with you. If a guy gets his visa from the first interview, they should consider themselves very lucky.
-
I agree with oohpartiv. Also, make sure during the interview that you have some time of knowledge of that person. Who that person is and what the person does, basically they want to make sure you have some time of relationship with that person. If you state that you don't really know that person really well, they probably would reject you and will ask you to have someone else to sponsor. Goodluck!

Are you scanning each page one at a time? There is a setting where you can scan one page after another PDF file and it would count as one attachment instead of many pages which will not all fit in the email. Good luck!
-
i agree, first thing you should see is if your father's income is enough then you only need one sponsor but if he is under the guidelines then a second sponsor is needed. yet, that doesn't mean it HAS to be a household member, it can be anyone who is willing to sponsor him and show proof that he is capable of doing so.

I noticed that every time I call either the DOS or NVC the date changes on the status.
-
This is so weird, NVC tells me that they sent out my husbands package on Nov 28 but I don't see it on DHL anywhere. Then when I call DOS to see if its at the embassy they said the electronic file is there but not the physical file. I don't think they can give us an interview date without the physical file. Then the representative also stated the physical file might have made it to the embassy but they haven't entered it in the database and dealing with Yemen it might take up to months. Really??? This was an expedited case, should I email the embassy? They take so long to reply back. They just replied back to an email I sent out in September. Sigh...
-
Ok. Again, thank you so much.
-
Oh no. Should I be worried? Should I call the NVC? Or will they tell me to give it more time like a couple days to weeks?
-
did you find shipment pickups for monday? nvc told me my husbands case was shipped out on the 28th of Nov, but i cant seem to pull up anything. Is it to early to make it to Sanaa Yemen? thanks in advance.
-
Yes, i've used this link once and it only worked that one day i checked it. I think that was in late august or early september, never worked since. It only shows case statues, for any case...

Yea, maybe they are moving along better.
Anyway, I decided to email the embassy to see what time and what else my husband should bring in with him along with his passport and I've noticed that they have an automated email that gets sent back right away saying this:
Dear IV Customers,
Please be advised that the Center for Disease Control has issued new
guidance regarding testing applicants for tuberculosis. The new CDC
guidance will require applicants for immigrant visas to obtain their
medical examination at least 3 days prior to their immigrant visa
interview. Embassy Sana'a will begin implementation of the new CDC
guidance on August 31st of this year. For those applicants with
appointments scheduled after August 31st, you will need to obtain your
medical exam at least 3 days prior to your interview. Thank You!
Sana'a IV Unit
Ok, thanks for the update but when will they answer my questions? Lol. I sent the same email twice and they send me their same email twice within seconds of sending mines.
