good morning friends, i have a question my wife has interview date for february 15th. i have somequestions regarding submitting thigns to VFS...what are the documents that need to be submitted. this is waht i know.
1. passport copy
2. marriage certificate copy
3. birth certificate copy
4. police clearance certificate copy
5. ds-230

now my question is my wifes original marriage and birth certificate it with NVC which will be forwarded over. will VFS know of this or do i have to show the paper i got from NVC stating that originals were submitted. DS230 was already filled out and give to NVC. do we have to fill it out again? i got a check list from NVC last night with all the documents i submitted to them. also do we submit health report to vfs or to consulate when we go for interview?

hi there guys, i just finished sending a letter to NVC with attention to PI SUE as she had infromed me. my wifes CR-130 filig is lagging it has been 8 weeks since approval from NVC.
has sending and email with PI SUE worked out...is this the form of expediting? how long does it take to get a reply that the case was indeed expediated?
-
i wish it was 10 days, its more like 8 weeks now for iNdia...
yes sending an enquiry will help, i will update you if it has been a help or not.
-
I CALLED UP, I TALKED TO SUE THE SUPERVISOR. THIS IS WHAT SHE INFORMED. SHE TOLD ME TO SENT A LETTER VIA THE NVC ENQUIRY EMAIL AND SHE WILL FORWARD IT TO THE CONSULATE. SHE SAID IT IS TOTALLY UPTO THE CONSULATE TO HONOR THAT.

ok i get what you mean, i will try. In regards to IR/CR i am a US citizen filing for my wife in india, but as far as i read i understood that Cr means after obtaining visa and living in US as CR ( conditional resident) then you need to change status to IR....
someone can correct me if im wrong as well but that is the info i got from NVC.
also. on another forum on www.trackitt.com, they are stating that there are reports of interview dates of people whose cases were completed upto October 20, 2011
-
i emailed mumbai since that is the new center ( in december file was transferred from chennai to mumbai) they have not recieved the file...i called NVC they say on the IVR, your case was completed on october 31, 2011, please allow 8 weeks for further instructions if it has been 8 weeks press 0 to speak to an operator....i waited to speak the idiot just reads the screen message on their computer screen, " unfortunately nvc was unable to schedule an interview for this month due to quota...BUT I THOUGHT THAT CR1 does not have a numerical limit? i dont understand
-
pardon me but, at which stage does the file travel to the embassy our case is closed at NVC october 31 and thus far no visa call it is a CR1 case...
-
thank you sam, i will do that ASAP on tuesday. i will follow up here as to what reply i will get and i pray that in January i will get an interview date for february...
-
yes i will do that because as far as i know US CItizens get the prioirty in the cases for usa, this is going reallly out of hand this was completed in october...this is JANUARY now, and i have not seen ANYONE here on visa journey with the same kind of case or incident...have you?
-
i have send numerous emails to NVC/ MUMBAI also..when i call NVC this is what they say" your case was completed on October 31st 2011, please wait 8 weeks for further instructions, if it has been weeks press 0 to speak to an agent" when i speak to an agent they tell me unfortunately we were not able to schedule for this month as visa limitation from mumbai.....( i find that odd because on mumbai website it says cr1 and k1 visa do not have numerical limits), i checked on mumbai website i dont have interview date for january 2012 either, officially it has been 8 weeks and 6 days since NVC completed the case, i dont know what the heck is happening.
-
is there anyone on the same page as me, the case was closed at NVC for my wife's CR1 case, thus far we have not recieved a visa call letter, it has been 8 weeks already.
in the mean time the chennai embassey stopped processing immigrant visa petitions and transferred files to Mumbai, hence we got new case number also.
can anyone shed some light on this info, days go by and i miss my wife terrbily it has been months!!
thank you
joe

@MIA,
please check on the mumbai website and do tell me if ur husband got an interview date ok. thank you
-
THIS IS GETTING OUT OF HAND REALLY, MUMBAI CONSULATE HAS POSTED THE DATES FOR JANUARY AND STILLL WE ARE NOT ON THE LIST. WHAT IS GOING ON??? IS ANYONE ON THE SAME CONDITIOn?//
-
No mia its not a red flag, what i understood is basically from my phone conversation with NVC on 12/7 is that Chennai will no longer handle the Immigrant visa process, it is being handed over to the Mumbai office. So our cases which was at chennai are transferred to Mumbai, im shocked we were not notified of the matter, lucky that i put this information up haha. ohh and correction to your posting it is BMB not BNB ok....that will cause error when you call if you say BNB...
keep me posted as well. who knows our spouses will both have interviews together. ...

well dear friends to add more confusion to what is already messed up, i called NVC last night 12/6/11 and i was adviced there was a change to the case, as of January 2012, embassy in Chennai will no longer handle immigrant cases, and those who have been with Chennai consulate, their files are transfered to embassy in mumbai, this was updated last night so they told me a written notification will be sent out via post or email within a week.
i also contacted the mumbai embassy and was told that they will post the January list on december 15th.
this is the latest info i pulled up.

Hey,
Our case was completed on 10/26 and my husband's Consulate is Chennai as well. I have been calling NVC, and on Monday they told me, they will be scheduling the next batch bn Nov 17 - Nov 26 or something similar and to call back end of next week. I just saw the schedule for Dec and we are not on it either. So sad. So I guess we are looking at January now!
MIAj, from my research what i understood is it is 8 weeks from the time NVC completes the case, so WE both are on the same boat, our spouses will have their "8 weeks" due by December 16th, it is on dec16th that NVC schedules the batch for January, i pray and hope it is then, i havent seen my wife in SOME time, it feels longerrrr

hi,
my wife received on saturday the 1797c form from Texas Service Center, it was a welcome notice stating uscis has recieved the visa packet from the point of entry, she has been issused an A number etc etc,
what does this all mean....is the green card issued? or pending..i checked thhe uscis tool online to check status and it says that it is in initial review so i am confused...
what about the social security card, she has not recieved that either....i called SS office they informed once DHS gives approval it is issued, i called DHS, they said once welcome letter is received it wont be long soo now im reallly confused...
if anyone can shed some light on this i would appreciate it.
thank you very much for the help.
