I've been researching the K1 process a lot recently as I want to petition for my fianc very soon. I meet basic requirements; a U.S. Citizen, not married, met each other, no criminal history.... And I'm not worried too much about income but rather how I will present in the petition. I haven't filed income tax for the past two years because I didn't work, I was a full time nursing student and completing externship. I've completed my schooling (no debt) and was recently hired at a hospital few weeks ago. That being said, I've very recently started to have income again that's projected around $55k to $60k annual earning. I'm a bit confused about how to present this. I have a comfortable amount in my checking and savings, will that suffice for financial requirement? On another quick note, I intend to submit my I-129F form soon. I've read the checklist on VJ but I'm asking for reassurance; In regards to evidence of meeting each other such as boarding passes, hotel receipts, photos together, messenger conversations, are these to be included in the I-129F envelope or after I received the NOA2? Thanks

When do you think they will begin to allow Vaccinated US citizens, who are married to Vietnamese spouses, to travel to, and enter Vietnam?

Hello everyone, I have just filed my 2020 tax return recently and want to fill out a new I864 form and upload it to the ceac website. Will uploading new documents to the website affect (or delay) the progress or timeline of my parents cases? Thank you for your help!

I want to start the K1 process and get my girlfriend here to the states from Vietnam as I haven't seen her in almost a year and I don't see Vietnam opening their borders for travel anytime soon. Lawyers cost $4,000 and is too expensive, and I've considered using online services such as Rapidvisa. Yes, I've read up on the process and it's pretty straight forward, but for me it's a matter on level of comfort filling out government paperwork and minimizing delays. While Rapidvisa doesn't speed up the process, it's the comfort of having them hold your hand while submitting as they've been doing this for a while. Any opinions on their services? What kind of supporting documents should I gather and submit other than the general list, photos, video chat log, plane tickets, hotel receipts? What's the current time frame to complete the K1 nowadays? Thanks

Adopting Step-Daughter with Green Card |

Does anyone have experience adopting a step-child who has a green card and lives with you in the U.S. My Vietnamese step-daughter is living with her mother and I and has a green card. When looking for adoption information, everything is related to conveying immigration benefits or to petition a child still living overseas. Our interest is to legally adopt and update her birth certificate (father's name is currently blank) so she is legally my daughter for school, medical, and legal matters in the U.S. and Vietnam. It will also give her piece of mind that she has a mother and father committed to her. She'll eventually get citizenship along with her mother after her mother applies in August 2021. (I am aware of my legal obligations after the adoption if the marriage ends.) We were given a list of required documents needed by the Vietnamese Embassy in Washington and have collected these, had them notarized and then apostilled by the Maryland Secretary of State. My wife recently called the Department of Adoptions in Hanoi and was told by a rather annoyed employee that since my step-daughter has a green card, the adoption should be done in the U.S., not Vietnam or the Vietnamese Embassy. However, a U.S. adoption won't update her Vietnamese birth certificate. Anyone have experience with this for their step-children - not necessarily from Vietnam? Thanks - Jason
