I may have made a major oversight. My fiancee and I were fortunate to finally get her here in July. She had to take the TB sputum test and as such is a Class B meaning the medical expires on the 7th of this month. I don't know why we didn't realize that the visa itself expires on the 7th because of the medical status... We just assumed we had the 90-days and schedule our wedding accordingly. Thankfully we do have wedding license and someone who can officiate at a moment's notice, but we really need some advice on how best to proceed here. As I re-read the USCIS site I realize the language is fairly clear and I can't believe I overlooked this. Very worried about this now... Edit: Am I misreading it? Is the validity of the visa related to the window of time she can travel here, or is she expected to depart the US before the expiration date?

Hi all, I don't know what to input my name for my i485. In my passport: - Last name: Nguyen - First name: Thi Thai Ha When I applied for I-129F, I put down my name as below so all my documents (NOA 1, NOA 2 receipts) are the same: - Last name: Nguyen - First name: Ha - Middle name: Thi Thai But in I94 form, my name was the same as the passport. So what should I put down as my name in I485? TIA!!

I already submitted the documents and visa application to NVC a few weeks ago. We are using my mom as a joint sponsor. However, I didn t submit any of her W2s or income statements from the previous years because I didn t think I needed them since she is retiring this year. (I only supplied my own) So I only sent her tax return transcripts over the last 3 years and had my mom write a note in the I-864 saying she is just entering retirement this year and put down her expected retirement income. Was that enough, or is NVC going to ask for more?

My husband & I are both United States citizens my husband became a citizen through naturalization. We want to get started on the process of sponsoring my mother in law. She came to the USA on a tourist visa before my husband became a citizen without the intent of staying, but due to covid she has been unable to go back to her home country of Vietnam therefore we will just be sponsoring. I would like to know the process to get started, what documents are needed & how long the process takes? Her visa is still valid as she got the extension for her visa since her home country did not have any returning flights for her to return to her country. Any help, tips, advice is greatly appreciated.

Hello Folks, We are currently working on submitting our I-751 application. I am looking for a little advice about our situation. I believe we have pretty strong evidence, but I would like to ask for advice on how to present our banking situation: - We each have our own accounts.
- I pay for basically everything, but she holds a separate account that receives her income from her part time job.
- My name is on her account. Her name isn't on my account.
For the reasoning of why we don't have one account, it's basically this: - We didn't consider the evidence requirement when we setup our finances. As such, it's just setup the way we would do it otherwise. My name is on her account simply to allow me to transfer money in and out easily, and help her administer it. Her name isn't on my account, because it's kind of a pain to add (Need to go into a branch), and we just never saw fit to need to do this.
- We had two separate accounts in Vietnam, so we just continued to do the same thing when we got here. It acts as kind of a convenient way to do accounting for our finances.
I am guessing we should have a paragraph eloquently saying the same thing as above. Since they are expecting joint bank accounts for all applicants. However, Which bank statements should we include? - My bank statements are in my father's and mine. They show my income, and all of our expenses. But it's not a joint account. Should we include it?
- Her Bank account is in her name, and mine. It shows income from her part time job, and some discretionary spending of hers. Should we include it?
Here is our other evidence: - 3 Joint Lease Contracts from 2017 to 2020. Vietnamese documents showing residing address for both parties.
- Closing Documents for purchase of Condo - August 2020 (Deed has not been retrieved yet, we're having issues due to covid)
- HOA Ownership Account Statements since August 2020
- Joint Tax filings and Return Transcripts from 2017 to 2020
- Joint Credit Card - two statements
- Health Insurance for 2020. (We use separate health insurance for 2021 because we thought it might save money.... (which it hasn't))
- Homeowners insurance
- Car insurance
- Payment confirmations showing payment of beneficiary's university education by petitioner.
- 3 print outs showing beneficiary information. (Print outs are basic don't provide account details. From Vanguard and fidelity.)
- 100+ photographs
- ~50 flight/train/bus tickets and plenty of matching passport stamps.
