So my wife just got her entry stamp and we're looking to start the N-400 process. She is from Vietnam and getting a name change there to take my last name seemed like a complicated mess that we will undertake in the future. I've read during the N-400 process my wife can have her last name changed to mine. I am however confused from reading the pinned post about having the marriage cert show a name change.our marriage cert doesn't list a name change on it and only her maiden name. So will the ceremony need a judicial hearing? Or does the marriage cert act as eligibility to get a name change?

I petition for the K1 and submitted an I-129f form April of 2021 and received the NOA1 later that same month. It's August 2022 and I have yet to receive any NOA2 and when I try calling USCIS the automated system hangs up on me. I submitted a service request online and USCIS sent an email to me stating that a representative will look into the case and get back to me with in 45 days with a notice of action. Has anybody submitted or inquired a service request like I did or is this just another USCIS bluff? Anyways, I mailed my packet to TSC, but I suppose CSC is handling it now, it's very frustrating that I do not get any notice from the USCIS regarding my status and it's almost a year and a half since I petitioned. I can't even talk to a live person in the USCIS to inquire about anything. Is anybody else on the same boat? According to VJ they are already processing the K1 applicants from June 2021 already.... Are there any suggestions that I can do other than to wait?

Hello. My green card was sent to the wrong address and the people there gave it back to the mailman. I recently received this notice from USPS: "Your item was picked up at a postal facility at 9:35 am on August 20, 2022 in LEES SUMMIT, MO 64002" with a status of "Delivered: Individual Picked Up at Postal Facility". I'm in Carson, California and I can't fly to Missouri to retrieve my package. Is there a way to have the people in a postal facility there send me back my package? P/s: I also sent USCIS a request to send my green card back to the correct address and they said I have to wait for about a month to have my case looked at.

I got my K1 Visa approved today and now I've got 6 months to enter the USA. Then, I have to get married within 90 days upon entering to the USA. Prior to entering the USA, my fiance and I want to meet up and travel around a few other countries before entering the USA on the K1. Does anyone know or can think of any reason(s) why visiting another country prior to entering the USA would invalidate the K1 visa or complicate matters? As far as I know, a K1 Visa or any other non-immigrant visa conditions a validity date. I can't see how the visa would restrict ones freedom to travel to another country before utilizing the USA entry visa. By the way, it's quite common for people to transit through another country prior to coming to the USA. Can anyone comment here?

Hi all, I have been trying to following the timeline for the i765 for my wife s case. Here on K1 and our AOS is pending. In the forum it states that uscis is processing applications from February 9th. My application received date is February 2 and notice date is the 14th. I ve also noticed many people had their I765 approved way before mine. My question is, is there anyway to find out if my wife s case will get reviewed soon? Uscis states that I can t inquiry about this cases till next year. Is there any way to see if I can expedite our case?
