Hello All, I (US citizen) petitioned my mom and dad by filing I-130 in 2023 and finally my mom I-130 application got approved but my dad application has not approved yet. I am started preparing I-864 for my mom first and I have some questions to ask for I-864. I have red instruction form few times and I still confused. I only started working this year and my current income to date is near 75K. I had no income in 2023 and 2022 but my husband and myself filed tax married jointly during those years (his incomes are higher than threshold limit). 1. My first question is do I need my husband to do joint sponsor for my mom meaning that he will file I-864A form? 2. Part 3) There is one question that confused me. Question 2 is the one that confused me I am sponsoring the following family members immigrating at the same time or within 6 months of principal immigrating in part 2 (do not include any relative listed on separate visa petition) . My dad will or might fly on same day with my mom but since it is two separate visa petitions and not dependent, I would not checked this box for question 2? 3) Part6) questions 24a,b,c for total income for the last three years. Since we filed 1040 tax form, we would need to provide total income not AGI, is this correct? Thank you so much for reading and helping.

Hello all - I apologize if this is redundant but I didn't see any other answers when trying to search. My fianc and I showed up for our K1 visa interview today at the Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam embassy. We checked in outside but they stopped us and told us that the DS-160 confirmation number on the Appointment Confirmation is different than the actual DS-160 confirmation. I cannot at all understand how this could have happened since we only completed one DS-160 application online. Because of this, they didn't let us inside and now don't know what to do. I have emailed the embassy asking for leniency to reschedule a new appointment and calling them doesn't go anywhere. I understand I made a grave error in checking everything else in our packet but never even thought to think that there is a different DS-160 number on the appointment confirmation. Does anyone have any additional advice on what to do? Thank you so much!

We filed back in April of 2024 for AOS. The i485 got updated to a new edition in August. We received an RFE for the public charge question. So we have to correct that. However I encounter a conundrum in that can we just fill the pages in question?... or do we have to fill out an entirely new I485 because it is now a different edition than the original application?.... Second question is that we don't remember the exact residential history for past 5 years because my wife moved at least 3 times in her home country. If we have to fill out entire form again will it matter if the residential history matches or not? Because she can't remember exact dates... Unfortunately I scoured my records and can't find a copy of original 485.

I've seen numerous posts about this topic, but I am still confused. For my Fiancee's paperwork, passport, and K-1 visa her name all matches, which is: Surname: Nguyen (Example) Given Name: Thi Thu Trang (Example) Her airplane ticket is in this order. In Vietnamese, her surname would be "Nguyen", her middle name "Thi", and her Vietnamese Given Name is "Thu Trang". A lot of Vietnamese have 2 names as their First Name. (Last, Middle, First #1, First #2) For Social Security Administration (SSA) and Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) purposes, we know we should match it exactly like how it appears on her I-94 entry form (Thi Thu Trang Nguyen). For everything else, including our upcoming Adjustment of Status (AOS) paperwork, Removal of Conditions (ROC) paperwork, rental/lease agreements, employer health, dental, vision insurance, utility bills, and credit card/bank statements, Should the correct 'American Name Order' be: Trang Thi Thu Nguyen (First #2, Middle, First #1, Last) or Trang Thu Thi Nguyen (First #2, First #1, Middle, Last) or Thu Trang Thi Nguyen (First #1, First #2, Middle, Last) It's a bit awkward for my Fiancee to get used to having her name switched around which I am sure everyone here (and their relatives and spouse) has had to deal with as well when first coming to the states. Thank you so much! - Tony
