Print Case Number on Civil Documents?

In the wiki here it states that I should:

Don't forget, it's highly recommended you write your case number on the top right of ALL documents (except the bar-coded cover sheet and the cover letter). The writing of the case number on documents is in case NVC misplaces one of them. If it has the case number written on it, it has a much better chance of being reunited with the case.

Is this still accurate? I am concerned that if I upload the documents with the case number printed on them (the originals have nothing extra printed on them, I am just using Acrobat to add the case number to the uploads) they might consider them as altered.

What is the current best practices for this?

Thank you!

Translate for NVC or no? Advice wanted.

For the NVC civil documents it says:

Please note that all documents not written in English, or in the official language of the country from which you are applying, must be accompanied by certified translations.

The translation must include a statement signed by the translator stating that:

  • The translation is accurate, and
  • The translator is competent to translate.

Everything is in Vietnamese, the language of the country from which we are applying. It would be reasonably simple to get everything translated but I wonder if that would cause more problems than it is worth. For example if the translator does not not use the specific verbiage in the statement it could cause a hiccup in the process.

What is the best advice? Do the translations or not?

Also, if the translations should be provided, do they need to have been performed within a certain timeframe (for example, can I use the marriage certificate translations I obtained for the i-130 process)?

Thank you!

Hi, we have been patiently waiting for our approval, has there been any news from the consulate in HCMC about resuming Interviews? Is there any news about I-130 approvals from USCIS?

Thanks, Mike

I-944: 6 months of credit card statements? Debts and Income

Hi everyone,

I know I-944 is a new form but I have been seeing conflicting information on what is required for this form.

For liabilities and debts, USCIS instruction simply say: provide documentation. The link (1) below states that you have to submit 6 months of credit card statements, but other sources (like link 2 below) say that just the most recent statement is needed. Did anyone here submit 6 months of statements?

Link 1: https://maggio-kattar.com/form-i-944-affidavit-of-self-sufficiencylist-of-supporting-documents/

Link 2: https://learn.simplecitizen.com/immigration-support/form-i-944-required-supporting-documents/#liabilities-debts

For income, USCIS request that tax transcript is submitted. Do you know if just most recent year (2019) is enough or do we need 3 years like suggested in link 1 above?

For assets, if my income is enough, should I list all of my assets or just a few is good?

Thank you all and best of luck with your application!

Hi guys,

Hope you all and family stay safe and healthy.

I have a question and hopefully someone can help me out.

I'm on the progress of AOS (NOA1 received phase). But, I just realized: I DIDN'S SUBMIT I-131 ALONG in the package! Just I-485 and I-765.

How can I fix this issue? Can I send I-131 now? Will there be a filling fee?

Thanks for reading and any advices would be greatly appreciated.
