Long story short. My condition green card expired in 2017 and we both jointly filed for the renewal/petition to remove two year conditions. This was in mid 2017. Unfortunately she passed away in mid February this year. My case has been bounced around office to office with new jurisdiction for the past few months. I called the UCSIS about the situation and they told me to bring the death certificate to the interview if I am called into one. However, I see a waiver is needing to be filed? I really cant get a solid answer.

Hi All, I've been looking around and I'm sure it's here but I'll ask: - How long from emigrating under a CR1 will it take to get my social security number? - Can I start work whilst waiting (my boss wants me to re-start a week after a move)? - Any experiences? Thank you

I arrived in Feb 2019, married a USC in April 2019 and got my work permit in Oct 2019. I'm currently awaiting green card interview but recently got laid off due to COVID-19. I remember something about not being able to become a 'public burden' on the welfare system whilst awaiting my green card, or potentially even the entire time I have a green card up until I choose whether to become a US citizen myself or not. Does this mean I won't be entitled to ANY of the government assistance (unemployment, stimulus cheque, welfare of any kind) due to COVID-19 because I'm not a US citizen? My wife and I filed our 2019 taxes jointly and I have a social security number but I don't know if that will make me eligible due to my 'resident alien' status, even though my spouse is a US citizen. Any ideas??

Hi, we received NOA2 on Monday, and my fianc e went to her bank to ask for the following as described in the guide You will need several items (for the above form). Gather duplicate evidence of income and resources as appropriate: (A) Statement from an officer of the bank/financial institution with your deposits, identifying the following: 1. date account opened; 2. total amount deposited for the past year; 3. present balance (B) Statement(s) from your employer on business stationary showing: 1. Date and nature of employment; 2. salary paid; 3. whether position is temporary or permanent (also include copies of your last two pay stubs and your previous W-2 for the associated employer if available) (C) If Self Employed: 1. Copy of last income tax return filed (or IRS transcripts); or 2. report of commercial rating concern (D) List containing serial numbers and denominations of bonds and name of record owner(s). For part (A), is the past 12 months of statements enough, or does she need something more specific? Any other tips which may be helpful for this part of the process are also much appreciated.
